Coming from a young (20 yr. old) girl, I think that Pink Floyd is amazing sober, then again i've never been in a situation to listen to them otherwise. But, Pink Floyd has a special place in my life, its the thread that bonds me and my father. When i was a baby he'd have to play Pink Floyd or Fleetwood Mac and walk me up and down the hallway to get me to fall asleep at night. I love Pink Floyd's music it's so relaxing and beautiful. My husband drew me a bubble bath one day and put on "Wish You Were Here" and lit candles for me, let me tell you that was the most relaxing and romantic bubble bath I've ever had. I've heard stories about people only understanding it when they aren't sober, but in my opinion, its music that can only throughly be enjoyed if you are sober.

I can completely agree with that, i often enjoy waking up or going to sleep to hey you, i will drive into work listening to Shine crazy dimond, it is a truely amazing assemblement of music, expecially with the philharmic orchestra.
I have alwasy liked floyd, i did one find myself in a situation where i could experience it both ways, nothing i would choose to do now, but i cant even describe how amazing it was, like listening to Floyd but knowing that they have designed the song for your experience.
I would never do it again and i enjjoyed Floyd before, but this has added another meaning to Floyd when i listen and it now sounds even better than before, but thats a personal opinion and not an encouragment to try it, im sure somone will comment and disagree, what lucky creatures we are to have a opinion of our own :)

When I was in high school, there was a lunar eclipse. The local college radio station played the Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety during the eclipse. I went outside, tuned it to the station, reclined on a lawn chair, and watched the eclipse. Somewhere during this, I dozed off only to be awakened by the cacophony of clocks chiming in the song Time. I do not ever recommend listening to Dark Side when attempting to sleep as a result. :) That was a very memorable night for me - and I was sober.

Pink is awsome no matter how you listen to them. Being stoned does enhance the experience as you are looking for deeper meanings to what they are saying, but that relates to anything you do stoned.

Pink Floyd sounds beautiful all the time. One of my favorite times to listen to Dark Side of the Moon is on the way home from work, but any time is good. By the way, I don't drive home from work stoned. I have noticed that most people who appreciate Pink Floyd are much more intelligent than average. Is this a coincidence? I don't know.

I think it can be enjoyable either way although I'm sure it's an enhanced experience when your stoned. Most things get better when your stoned especially food and music.

Pink Floyd equals genius. Anyone who says otherwise must be partially insane. I don't think you need to be stoned at all to feel the emotions in the songs. I've never been stoned so I can't say anything about that. I would imagine you feel like you are floating into outer space trying to cling to your remaining existence. Or soemthing to that effect.
