I love sushi! It's that kind of food that I feel I can eat everyday. I remember though the first time I tried it, I can barely keep it down. The knowledge that it is raw fish makes me want to throw it up. However, once I got over that and developed a taste for it, I feel I'm addicted to the stuff. My favorite sushi is salmon, eel, spicy tuna and spicy scallops. I also love the different rolls that is usually available where you get sushi. How about you? Do you like sushi or you wouldn't touch it all? If you like it, what are your favorites?

I absolutely love sushi, in reality it is my favorite food. I love rock and roll's, california roll, dragon roll, rainbow roll. I love spicy tuna roll but in reality I have never tasted a sushi that I did not like. It is all so delicious, all the raw fish mixed with rice, soy sauce and avocado, mmmmmm.

I really like Japanese cuisine and I especially love sushi. The first time I tried them I just wanted to keep eating more. I especially like the california rolls, they are so good. I haven't tasted them in a while though. But hopefully I'll go this summer to one of my favorite restaurants here in NYC and eat some sushi.

I have never tried sushi before and I am one of those that I don't think I could bring myself to eat raw fish I think it would make me gag. I know it is suppose to be delciouis but it is the thought of what you are eating not what it taste like.

LOL!...I know exactly what you mean. What inspired me to write this down is because a co-worker of mine stopped at my desk to talk about his lunch where he had sushi and he asked if I like sushi! Well, I sure do and just like you I feel like I should go out and have some. Thanks for sharing!

I haven't eaten sushi as well because it is not one of my favorite dish not because it is not delicious but because my darn tummy can't tolerate raw foods/fish. Cheers!

It's a shame you can't tolerate raw fish, but I guess you have to listen to your stomach. Thanks for sharing!

I love Sushi, but I've developed some shellfish allergies that might have spilled out to regular fish. I also have sensitivities to sodium, which make it harder to eat the salt-water fish. But, I like tuna sushi a lot. I've also had eel sushi, but they actually cook the eel in that case. Salmon sushi is also very wonderful. It's really fun going to a sushi bar and just ordering a dish at a time.

It's a shame that you have developed those allergies. Furthermore, with a sodium sensitivity, that would mean soy sauce should be off limits to you, which unfortunately, is the usual partner for sushi. I know exactly what you mean about eating at a sushi bar. It is so easy to go overboard with so many things to choose from. Thanks for sharing!

Well same as you dear. I have never had sushi, but it’s a recent rage in india. I hear that apart from the taste and flavour, its quite healthy too. Many Japanese restaurants are offering sushi platters but I don’t think I can have one. The very thought that its raw fish is enough to put off my appetite, specially since as a Bengali indian, we love our fish and always have it well cooked.

I love it too. I don't usually get the ones with raw fish though I have ate it before. There is several rolls that I just love. One of them is the dragon roll. It has this terrific sauce that goes over it that I just love.

I don't mind some sushi. I make my own california rolls a lot because i'm allergic to Mayo and the ones you get in grocery stores and restaurants always have Mayo. What's interesting though is that my best friend recently found out that she has Irritable Bowel Syndrome and all she eats is sushi and sashimi now. And before she wouldn't have touched it with a ten foot clown pole, but she loves it so much now! I think it might be an aquired taste.

I was a lot like you the first time after people kept saying it's raw fish and so on and so forth, but I have developed an acquired taste for it now and can't do without some at least once per week. Love me some sushi!

The hardest part is getting up the nerve to try it for the first time. I don't like Shashimi (spelled wrong) but do like the rolls. Whether it's Eel, spicy, California Roll, etc. I also love my Wasabi and don't mind my face burning off in the process!

Biltkat, I agree! The challenge is trying it for the first time. But I guess, its an acquired taste. Draconess, Just like you, I'm not a wasabi fan, but I'll eat pickled ginger. Love that stuff. Thanks both of you for sharing!

I can't stand the wasabi- I do love the pickled ginger slices though! Great way to cleanse the palate between bites :)

Sushi - My favorite sushi
I dont like to eat sushi initially but my sister who is a sushi fan keep recommend me to have a try, I finally gave it a try and never know from then I develope a love for sushi. Unlike my sister who love to eat sashimi but I only take those cooked sushi, I dare not eat those uncooked sushi like sashimi as I cant stand to eat raw fish or seafood. When I have sushi, I must eat it with wasabi without which I dont enjoy eating sushi. My favorite sushi are Kappa maki ( cucumber ), Inari ( sweet tofu ), spicy tuna roll, Ebi ( cooked prawn ),corn mayo, tamago ( omelette ),Unagi ( grilled eel ),Ebikko ( fish roe ), Edamame ( Green Soybeans) and their potato salad. Though I love sushi but I seldom eat sushi as it is not cheap for a meal. However, recently I found out a place where I could eat sushi at the price of 30% cheaper than the price of sushi at a sushi bar or restaurant but the quality is not compromised. This sushi is located at a stall in a local hawker center within a walking distance from where I stay. So happy as from now on, I could have as many sushi as and when I want to cos it is so affordable and the quality is good as well. I just had it for my dinner yesterday.

I agree, sushi is definitely not cheap. Although if you are lucky, you can find some tuck away place that can give you a decent price without compromising quality, which is VERY, VERY important with sushi. Thanks for sharing!
