first i will lock my simcard with the service provider and i will just register a complaint and i will also inform to my brother and parents and i will definitely look it hard and search for it hardly.

Right! I forgot to add in my response that you should have it blocked as your provider will still charge you for the calls made, even if you didn't make them.

The first thing I would do is dial the number, if is is any where close by I would find it. If not I would report it to the company as lost/stolen.
Or if all else fails I would replace it with the same model phone.
I know of a similar incidence at a bank. A customer left his cell phone at the bank and when he rang it the teller answered so she told him she has it, that he can come and pick it up.

Dial your number. Maybe somebody found it and just doesn't know where to return it to. Talk with the phone company you have your cell service with. They can see, whether your phone was used after you lost it. If yes, report it stolen. Many people think they lost the phone when in fact it was stolen. Your phone might also have been turned in to them. If it still can't be located, inquire about replacement costs. Sometimes they'll give you a deal. Lastely, if all else fails, you have to fess up to your brother.
