Seems there had been a lot of talk last week here about pizza. My daughter and I and my wife all talked pizza as well. So I decided I wanted some home made pizza for sinner today. I use 2 packages of Pillsbury pizza dough, about a pound of cheese, one whole green papper, one medium white onion, and 2 cans of mushrooms. Oh this was sooo tasty. Between dad and I we ate half a cookie sheet of the pizza for dinner. My stomach feels like it is about to explode. I have about half left for the wife and I for a late night snack tonight. So what do you like on your pizza? Do you make your own ever?

yes I home made pizza before, and yes we loved it. It had our favorite slices and spices. Now that I am trying to be fully vegetarian, I will try make home made vegetarian pizza. Thanks you remind me of those times when I loved experimenting in the kitchen :)

The only time I like black olives on a pizza
is when I add hamburger and cheddar cheese.

I make it now even though the kids are grown and gone. And I still make a full sized cookie sheet size one even though it's just dad and I. Force of habit I guess. The leftovers will last a couple days only the way my wife likes to munch after work late at night.

I have never made a homemade pizza but I am going to. I like my pizzas really plain I want the crust, very very very little sauce, cheese and either hamruber or bbq beef and that is all I don't like veggies on it at all.

Right here...
Use a 9x13 cake pan (I prefer glass) spray with cooking spray. Layer the bottom with your choise of pre-cooked toppings. (Sausage, bacon, ham, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, peppers, whatever you want 'on' your pizza) Next spread with pizza sauce or spaghetti sauce. Next a healthy layer of cheese (I AM from Wisconsin, ya know!) Next make a biscuit dough either cheater style, like I do, from a box of baking mix or homemade, like I sometimes do,but add a bit extra liquid so you can spread it over the cheese. Bake at 375-400, depending on your oven, until the crust is golden. I brush my crust with my homemade garlic butter as soon as I pull it out of the over. Let it sit for a few minutes to cool and serve. I have served it both ways straight out of the pan or flipped to closer resemble a pizza. It does not change the taste either way! lol I hope you enjoy.

That sounds good except for the mushrooms, as I am not a mushroom fan. I have never made a home made pizza before but would like to try it one day. My favorite pizza is the hawain one with pineapples and ham. That's very tastey!

You know I make homemade pizza, as no cheese for me. I have never seen a lactose free pizza at my grocery stores. Its better to make them, as no big names I can't spell or say in mine. I'm not a good vegetable eater, but am trying to be better.

You are just so mean, Grandpa Bob. How could you sit there describing the pizza you made and pigged out on when I don't have all the fixin' for one in the house and no money to rush out and buy them either? Just plain mean, you are.

My husband makes a really good homemade pizza with all of the ingredients you mentioned, along with smoked oysters.

Hi, Web! I've only made my own pizza like 2 or 3 times in my life because it was with one of those pizza kits. If you've never tried one, they're absolutely awesome. Doesn't sound like it'd be good, but it's delicious! I'm a plain kind of girl, so all I really like on my pizza is cheese and sometime pepperoni. If I'm really daring, I'll have hame and maybe sausage on it. Other than that, I don't like anything else on it. Extra cheese is definitely a bonus. (LOL) I just had tacos for dinner, and here you make me hungry all over again! Ha, ha.

Well, I'm a little late coming upon this one, but DANG that looks good!! What kind of sauce did you use on that baby? Regular spaghetti sauce or canned pizza sauce or did you make your own? At first, I thought maybe this was a newer discussion and you were using your new tomatoes for a Pizza Margharita.
I've made pizza before - I used to use my electric fry pan with Bisquick to make pizza for me and my two kids. I've had better from professionals for sure, but it's not bad. And it's way easy to make without the heat from an oven (if it's the full heat of summer).
I love peppers and onions on pizza - that's a recent taste acquisition, actually. If they're a touch crispy on the edges, even better. But, if they both taste raw still - I'll opt out. No mushrooms and I'd prefer no pepperoni (though if way crispy, I can enjoy it), but I used to exclusively order Hawaiian (ham and pineapple). I still like that, but am on a veggie kick, I guess, for a while. The best of those I had was a place that not only used ham and pineapple, but also put thinly sliced almonds on the crust under the sauce and added black olives, peppers and mushrooms (which I had them leave off). It's funny, 'cause I'm not much on almonds, but thinly sliced like they were, they weren't really hard, yet they added a subtle crunch without changing the flavor. Outstanding! Don't live there any more, so I don't even know if they're in business any more.
I think I'll be making my mom and I some this week - she likes pizza, too (although, she's not adventurous - she prefers plain cheese). It'd be easy and cheap.
