Rebates for Food

I stumbled across a site listing rebate forms for various food products. When I read through them, only some were offers to entice you to try it the first time for free. The others were meant to be for unhappy customers to get the money back. It didn't sit well with me that the website owner was encouraging people to pretend they didn't like the items in order to get them for free. What do you think about this?

I'd feel very wrong about saying i didnt like an item when i did just to get it for free. It would be cheating those that make it. I dont feel bad about getting coupons for the items though so i can purchase them again.

I have done quite a few of those and you are exactly right. A few I have done I really didn't like the product any better than than the brand that I was using. Then a few I did just to get my money back. I hadn't really thought much about it until now. You are exactly right. Doesn't seem quite fair does it, but again they know it is a gamble when they offer this too. I guess the gamble is that some will buy the product and fall in love with it and be a long time customer. That may be how they look at it.
