It's said some private schools has found a new way to keep students under control. They install cameras in its classrooms which allow parents to keep an eye on their children via the Internet.
Do you have such shools in your place. This is my first time hearing about this.I'm not sure if it's a good way keeping an eye on your children via Internet. What do you think? If you are a parent,do you want to keep an eye on your children via the Internet while they are at school? Are you sure it won't hurt you kid's feelings? If you are a student, are you comfortable with being spied on by your parents?

I think this is going to be a very controversial idea. I personally like the idea because it will allow parents to see how their children really act when they are away from them. It will also keep school officials from exagerating stories about the child, which we have had happen. I have always trusted my kids to tell me the truth. I have backed that faith up by listening to what others say and deciding if all the stories fit together. Many times I have found that the school officials have exagerated a situation in order to get their own way. I think that these cameras will protect children as well as keep them on their best behaviour.

Spy the child via internet at home, yes.. But i have not heard that it can happen in school too.. hehe
But i wun quite like the idea as it's like invading their privacy.. The kids wun like it even they knows about it because it will make them feel even more restricted and end up more curious about things.. So once they have the chance to be out of the teachers or parents sight, they will sure to let them go and try everything that they wanna know.. SO it's actually quite dangerous, rather than safe..

I would certainly prefer not getting spied by my parents. It will surely hurt us but due to the rising risk at school this may sometimes be helpful too. This may be good for parents and bad for childrens but parents should use it carefully without hurting the feeling of their children.

Hi gxnfly-that is awful that is one thing I definitley wouldn't want-don't know of any schools here in the UK that have cameras in classrooms but it wouldn't surprised if there are-all these cameras everywhere is getting ludicrous soon everyone will have to have one in their houses!!-littleowl

That would be a really awful feeling, I would have hated it if I went to school and knew that my parents could have been watching me all day, my Dad would never have been off it and my life would have been a misery. Kids need time away from their parents, they need their own personal space, sometimes school is the only place outside of the home that a child can get it.
If this was available, I would purely be curious and would have to have a nosey just to see, but not to spy on them purely because it would be something new. But other than that I would not spy on my kids, their time away from me is their own to enjoy and I would not dream of intruding on it.

i agree to have a technology like this because it will help to discipline your children and attend school regularly and listen to the teacher attentively. if i am the student i will not worry if my parents always see me on screen what i am doing in the classroom.

Every coin has two sides, there is no absolutely answer! The motive for the parents spying the children is that they want to know something about their children, when they know what their children thought, they might help the children accploish their hopes!but parents also should give rooms to their children~

I am a senior citizen and my son is an adult but
if I were a parent today I would love a feature
like that so I could see my child was safe. I do
not see why the children would object nor why they
would even have to know.It is simply a way to be sure
the children are safe at school.
