I totally disagree with that because they are just looking at the small picture, which is just earnings. What they fail to see is the sense of belonging and the frienships formed when people are on mylot. I guess these people are just so blinded by earnings that they don't see anything else. While it is true that there are many other sites that pay much better than mylot, payment is not everything and in fact is just a small part of participation here on mylot. I really feel disappointed with people who make claims based on the small picture without really taking into account many other factors as well. I think it's still best not to take other people's words just as it is, but rather try it for yourself to see what really is in store for you.

You are right as money is only part of it. For me to go elsewhere, it was because of the deleted discussions and no reasons given as to why it happened. It did upset a lot of people ... me included ... because we took the time to respond to qualify discussions. Mylot took some action against some members and in at least 2 cases, the member was banned or no longer able to post. That meant all those discussions were gone as well as the responses.
Being part of a forum is about many things other than money. Anyone who joins this sort of forum just for the money is bound to be disillusioned.

For me, I will also feel dejected if I discovered that my good responses are deleted because the discussion starter made a violation (I hardly start discussions). But that doesn't deter me from continuing to post my best stuff here on mylot because those deleted discussions only make a small difference to my earnings. And like we said, earnings are not everything. If you're ever wondering why your discussion or responses ever got deleted, it's either because your response violated some mylot rules or that the discussion-starter violated some rules but your response got the "blow" as well. I don't think mylot will ever give reasons why they delete posts because I think they expect you to know the rules and how things are managed over here. I guess the rules on mylot is simple; play by the rules or feel free to leave.....

chubibo, I agree with you 100%. Your earnings will just come along with your good, hard work. We will just enjoy and share ideas.. and learn from others too who are sincere enough to share what they have. I meet a lot of good people here.
I like mylot.

MyLot does pay. I just received $10 in my paypal account and a lot of people here earn far more than that per month here. It's a slow earner, but it isn't a scam. It all depends on the quality of your posts and how much time you have to devote to your activity here. On a good day, if I've spent a lot of time here then I can make as much as a dollar. I don't generally have that much time to spend, so it might take me a month to reach cash out. Sometimes it takes me longer. But when you consider that MyLot doesn't require us to pay anything to use the site and that we're getting paid for our time, it's not that bad.
If you want to earn more here, then make your posts lengthy, use proper grammar and spelling, and post discussions that require people to respond at length. For those out there who respond with "I don't no wut ur talking abowt" and that's their entire response--of course they're not going to earn much here and they'll be the first to complain that it's a scam.

My feelings exactly. These threads are called discussions with implies a give and take. A conversation isn't one sided. When you want to talk to someone, you open up with a topic that not only will they find interesting but will spark further response.
I've gotten those replies. Or - like in thread I started that related to eighties music I got a reply that said, "...to tell the truth I don't listen to eightees music." And I think their response was full of mispelled shortenings like your sample.

I was earning from 10-20 a month when I was somewhat active. And now that I'm back my friends tell me that the earnings have increased.
The trick is do quality discussions. Not just things like - hey what's your favourite color type of things. And write back when people respond, a discussion is give and take.
Make sure your responses aren't things like yes or no or I don't know. Make sure they address the topic. If you have no idea then move on to another discussion.
Those who say its a waste of time didn't post quality discussions or responses.
I think its worth it no matter what - its like a huge international dinner party where people ask both frivolous and serious questions and everyone joins in the discussion.
Have fun and good luck!

I think you have a good point here. Posting serious and quality discussion is worth the time you spend. I agree, if you are just here and just ask what is your favorite color? hehehe... it's not that interesting to answer with.
I am enjoying here and as what other said, we are not earning a lot of money in this site but we got a lot of ideas and good community to share ideas with and to learn good points from them too.
I like mylot though others turn this site down, let them go ahead.. that's their choice. We will not force them to believe what we do.

Mylot is only a waste of time if #1 you can't communicate with ppl/participate in discussions maturely and #2 if you are expecting to make your mortgage/rent/car payments etc etc...
I've been here for 18mths and have been paid on time every time...How much you make depends on how active you are and if i'm not mistaken the quality of your posts etc (example= oneliners dont cut it)...

Dear friend mylot is not waste of time. There are very rare honest site in internet that pays and mylot is one of them. If you spend some time in mylot and enter to the depth then you will find that mylot is just a wonderful site with full of interesting things.

well, if you're interested mainly in earning, maybe. If you're interested in having some fun, meeting other people, gaining some knowledge, surelly not. If you wanna have some fun, meet other people, gain knowledge AND earn some extra money, not at all! :)

People can and do earn from here. It just depends on how active they are. The more a person participates the more they can earn. I average about $4 or $5 a month. Not much, but that's because I'm not as active on here as some of the other mylotters. So for me it is a slow process trying to earn any money from here. But that's okay as I enjoy being here. It's not all about the money for me!

I've done a number of things on the internet, but never one as much fun or as profitable as myLot.
I've enjoyed myself every day here, and the earnings are a nice bonus. I'm more than satisfied with what I'm being compensated for here and myLot does pay, just like they say they do.
Stick around and make some money. Then go back and show them that you did. If they don't follow you, it's their loss.

I think most mylotter wont think it's a waste of time, or maybe I did think so for a few months back. It was because I just started to earn some extra money online and find it hard to earn on mylot. But at time goes and use some time to learn more about mylot, I think most people who like discussion will like to stay here and enjoy the posting more then money. But ofcourse the bonus $ makes us more active, just like seeing points increase.

I don't think so. In fact, it doesn't matter to me either they will pay me or not. What matters most to me is my friends are here and i can communicate with them every time I log in here.

nice topic! I really find this interesting, I'm quite new here and honestly my priority is to earn, appreciate it if you can give me some pointers to improve my earnings but on the otherhand its truly nice responding to discussion. I guess I wont think of earning but enjoy the site so I wont be frustrated. Its really nice to know that my lot is for real. Its really hard work I guess but as long as they pay I would not mind doing my part ^_^
Appreciate your tips guys!

For a while I was very active here but then mylot started to delete discussions ... none that I started but many that I responded to. No reason was ever given why these discussions were deleted and they all seemed good to me, or I would not have responded. When they delete discussions those who have responded also lose points and that is also money. I wasn't here for the $ but it was very disillusioning all the same. I only have so much time available as I work away from home for most of the time and if I respond to a discussion I do not want to see that it has been deleted or whatever.
Then I found another site which I much prefer on the whole. It does not pay but the members there are great fun plus it has a whole variety of stuff for members. Things that a forum like mylot should have, considering its size. Photo Gallery, able to upload photos, blogs, arcade games, forum games, recipes, jokes, discussions and free stuff. As I said they do not pay members for posting but they do have giveaways to members for being active.
Mylot does pay its members but nobody will ever make a fortune here. To get money, you have to post good qualify discussions and responses.
I actually only came back here because I heard that the payments have increased slightly and I am close to payout, so I figured I might as well make a few posts and reach payout level.
Good luck but remember to post quality. Plus you will not make a fortune here, so do not give up your day job. lol

It's a process, that's for sure. I think the ones that put it down go into Mylot with their heads held ultra high. They think they will earn hundreds within a few hours or so. After they learn that they actually have to put the time and effort into making money, the attitudes rise. People are never happy with anything. Just be glad Mylot is giving us this much.

It's not a waste of time if it's something you enjoy anyway. I am part of a few other sites, one of which has made me MUCH less than mylot and I have been a member there since last August. I've only been here for about a month. I'm very happy with the discussion quality and the quality of people I have met here, and I have actually managed to make minimum payout as well. My thought is that you get what you put in. When I have no time to get here and read and post, I may not make very much that day. When i have lots of time to get here and read and post, I might make more than a dollar a day. While that still doesn't sound like much, it's a nice little incentive and does add up over time. Either way, I have still enjoyed the time put in, which is what it's all about anyway.
'Waste' to me is something I have to spend time doing that I do NOT like doing, that I get no enjoyment out of, that I regret I had to spend my time on it, that I would sooner ask somebody else to do for me than do it myself. Mylot doesn't fit into any of those categories for me.
