What's a safe high protein diet for cats?

I have a cat with liver problems that I need to put on a high protein diet. When I was researching it on the internet, I found a warning that the diet shouldn't contain shellfish, organ meat or fish meal. Does fish meal mean something processed with the bones? I wish I could find a list of what's safe.
