I don't like turning off the lights because it can "damage" the eyes in a way if you always do it. The TV emits some kind of waves that's bad for the eyes if it's the only light source... at least that's what i know. Haven't really looked into it yet though if it's true.

I love watching movies in the dark, it feels like it's only me and the subjects, the heroes.

No, I don't. Even if I just surf the net I keep the lights on because I feel sleepy once it's dark. I only turn it off if I will surely go to sleep. Maybe a lampshade will do, it's okay for me but totally dark? Just the light from the tv? I guess I'm going to snore after an hour of watching. hehehe..

For me it really depends on what kind of movie it is. If is a funny movie I will grab a bag of popcorn and turn off the lights to watch it. If it's a scary movie then I'll just leave the lights on.

Unless I'm eating a meal, I definitely do. It gives me that movie theater feel, so, I love it!

I don't turn the lights off either, because when its dark, the tv is really bright and it hurts my eyes, makes them blurry.

I don't. I have a lamp that has a three way light bulb. I keep it on the lowest when I want to see a movie. The only time I saw a film without any lights was Platoon many years ago.Someone somewhere said to really understand how it really was is to see Platoon with the lights off. So I did.It was great.

No I don't.
I feel that movies are best watched in the cinemas. It is just different there lol.
So if I watch movies at home, it is just like a normal program. And so, I see no need to switch off the lights.
Cheers!

manya pearl I am with you. I get a headache when watching
television with the lights turned off. its most uncomfortable
and if I am by myself I never do turn the lights off
at all. Sometimes my son will turn them off when he
watches but not me. I get to feeling sort of seasick. lol
