Keep it simple with no meat. Rice, boiled potatoes (and the liquid you cook them in), cream of wheat or grits, chicken soup or broth, Gatorade or Pedialyte...the popsicles are good, too. Also, my Grandma always put lots of black pepper on boiled potatoes or rice or grits...whatever, because she said it settled your stomach. So I've always done that, too. Hope you feel better!

7-Up or Sprite. The bicarb settles your stomach. It really does work. I even had a doctor prescribe it once when I just couldn't keep anything down when I had the flu.

I have a very finicky stomach but I have found out what my problem was, by fluke. I am dieting and so I have cut out carbs and what a difference my stomach has been. I don't get much gas anymore or get those horrible gas pains. I go to the bathroom every morning, which I never used to do, and I don't have that bloated feeling anymore or the pains I used to get before going potty. So it could be that you are eating too many carbs as they seem to fester in our stomachs before we pass them. I spoke to my doctor about this after the fact, and she tells me that carbs are the hardest thing for our system to digest so it sits in our intestines and festers till our system finally gets rid of it. So my opinion is, that it is gas build up you are experienceing and you may want to cut back on your carbs and see if that helps you. I am sorry I can't help you with finding out what you can take to help but I do know that I will eat some chicken noodle soup when I have a stomach ache and it seems to help somewhat, but maybe that is all in my head as that is the remedy I grew up with and it may just be an old wives tale, chicken soup good for every ailment we experience.

Tea is excellent and broth soups also apple sauce and ginger ale willhelp;. if you have some candied ginger that will also help. sometimes cold icy cola will help too. rice is considered bland and may help but I also know bananas have helped me too when my tummy was upset. beef broth and chicken broth heated are also good. and saltines help too.

I know ginger is supposed to be good for settling your stomach...so ginger ale, gingerbread, gingersnaps, ginger tea, etc...are all good just sip/nibble slowly. I hope you feel better soon.

I think carbonation is good. Anything like coke, pepsi or sprite is good in small amounts. Gingerale also. My mom had the flu as a child and the doctor made her drink burnt toast juice for the charcol effect. gross!

I think you have to identify first what makes your stomach upset. Most of the time, I also drink tea and have soup. I also use ointments and bind my stomach so that heat will be trapped and make the bad gas go out. If I have diarrhea, I usually take medicines and a lot of fluid or electrolyte beverages (gatorade will do).

Try to have light food. Also make sure that you eat food which you can digest easily. Back in India we have coconut water if anything goes wrong.

Try to drink plenty of water. I would avoid milk and any food with fat. So go for plain boiled rice, plain bread, breadsticks, and try to fill up with that, at least for 24 hours then maybe introduce other food.
