Ok I am trying to pass some time and a friend suggested this so who knows the best way I can learn. Ive got the yarn and needles but not the knowledge. I dont know anyone who can teach me anymore. So will you teach me or do you know a website that can teach me this skill. I really want to make something for my baby.

Well best way is to get some one in person to teach u as u r new into it and basic tip cant be learnt on net or phone. so look around in neighborhood and u will find some teacher just invite her on cup of tea and have basic knowledge , rest u can learn via practice Take care

hi.. i dont know how to knit but i can crochet adequately. My avatar is a baby princess jasmine crochet doll made by my close friend. now, she is with the real talent. LOL... hmm... i can suggest that you search online various tutorials with step by step pictures. for me, i was taught by my nanny when i was 6. i started doing simple chains. with chains i progressed working on square potholders and edging handkerchiefs and placemats. hope this simple suggestion helps. happy mylotting

Thanks for posting that pattern, it does look easy and very pretty too. I printed off a couple of copies, one for me and one for my mom. Minnie the crochet site looks terrific that whiteheather posted, that should answer any questions and help you learn to crochet. Its really easy and all it takes is practice, good luck.

I crocheted several different things for my grand daughter. I got the directions on line just by googling free patterns. A afghan would be the easiest for you to do, and I always found the granny square pattern to be the easiest.

I wrote it all down for my sister once.. If you know how to chain (or do a chain stitch) that's the beginning.. But I'm sure someone has likely left you a link by now.. It's quite relaxing.. I haven't done it for years tho..

Well darlin if you lived close to me I would be happy to teach you to crochet. I always make my grandchildren an afghan for when they are born. I will have to start making them big afghans for when they get grown. Its easy to learn, my mom taught me and I also learned some stiches from books. You can buy a how to booklet at a craft store or at Walmart. You can also find something at the library. Good luck, and I will keep my fingers crossed that you will have a girl. I can feel it in my bones.

I was just asking mom to teach me to knit last night. She said she could teach me how to crochet better than knit. She did try to teach me growing up and I learned to crochet enough to make a long string but never learned how to hook it together to actually make something useful...but if you ever need a long string I'm your gal.

Hello minnie, I don't have that skill either. I had a friend before who tried to teach me but I did't learn it, maybe because I was not listening very much and my heart is not into that those time, but like you, I also wanted to learn. I have tried to you tube it, and trying my best to imitate it! I hope you will find it at you tube too!

After desperately trying for years, and buying tons of books and software, to learn how to knit, I almost gave up. Then I found Knitting and Crocheting for Dummies at my local library and lo and behold, I was able to learn how to knit. I ended up buying the book to keep on hand as a reference as well. You can also call your local yarn shop and see if they offer or know of places that ofer classes. I know our library recently offered a learn to knit class as well and it turned out really well.

I would love to teach you, but I would have to practice myself first as I haven't done it for a while...and it would be hard to do over the net anyway. I found this webiste so give it a try: http://www.learntoknit.com/

I wish I could help you, but though I did learn a little crocheting when I was much younger, I have forgotten it all now. I will keep an eye out though, and if I see something that may interest you, or someone with that knowledge, I will send them your way.

I used to knit long, long time ago, but found I just didn't have the patience for it...LOL. There are a number of sites for knitting or crocheting. Some you can download free patterns http://www.knitandcrochettoday.com/ This one even has some videos how to do things http://www.smart-knit-crocheting.com/ http://www.nexstitch.com/v_crochet_videos.html And guess what? Youtube has a score of videos http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=How+to+knit&search_type= http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=How+to+crochet&search_type=

Check your local YMCA or something like that, there are places around here that actually teach people to crochet and knit! My best friend's sister is learning to knit thru classes!

Well I cannot crochet, I can knit, but I would not know how to teach someone to knit without being face to face with them!! But I tell you where I learnt a few tips, youtube, so I bet if you were to go on there and type in learn to knit or crochet you would get something come up. Have fun xx

If I still lived in MN, I would gladly show you. You might try checking out a book at the library. There are many sites online that could help, but I'm not sure if you could get it while sitting at a computer. I've made loads and loads of baby blankets and afghans. What color would you like?

You should look to see if there are any knitting groups in your area. Knitters are generally friendly folk and I expect they would be delighted to teach you if you went along to a meeting. I think it's much easier to learn from someone showing you, rather than from books. Good luck!
