I'm nearsighted, so I wear glasses or contact lenses all the time. Without them, I'm practically blind. However, if I hold the book close, I can still read without glasses or contacts.
I dread the day, when I will need both. My regular glasses for my near sightedness and another pair for reading. Furthermore, I'm not eager to wear bifocals.

When I was younger I got 20-20 vision. But my eyes are aging now (lol). Fine prints are already blurry so I need to use reading glasses. I can still read larger fonts though even without the reading glasses as long as the reading materials are a hand stretch away. I am farsighted.

Luckily, my eyes are still clear. I dont wear any glasses at all when reading some books or newspapers.
When I am in front of the computer, my eyes do get strained especially when I spent more than 8 hours working in the computer. Sad to say, I cannot avoid this because I have a computer-related job.
My Mom does use reading eyeglasses; I think it is age-related. :-)

YES, I do. I have to. I was wearing eyeglasses already since I was 12, so its a must or else my eyes will easily get strained. I tried not wearing them but I wasn't able to read for a long time. So, I never take it off unless I go to sleep or take a shower AND during picture taking, LOL. =) Take care.

I have been wearing glasses since I was a teens as I am shortsighted. Though I could see the words of the book clearing I still persist to put on my glasses while reading book because I would suffer from migraine due to great difference in degree of the defect of the two eyes.

Yes, I have to use eyeglasses for reading, and also when driving a car. I have been using glasses since my university days. And, the lense power has been increasing since then !

Yes, these days I need glasses for distance as well as for reading. Quite interesting ! I didn't know I was in need of glasses till that day when I went to take the driving test. I was failing and failing. Then the gentleman doing the test sensed it and said "I think you should wear eye glasse". He was perfectly right. The next time I went for the test again with my beautiful eye glasses, I passed the test right away. So easy ! I thank him so much till today !
