so heres a fairless useless discussion but one i have with myself more than enough haha.. anyways the question is.. why do people write the "W" double vee' instead of a 'double you' .. when i write i round off most of my letters, e, w, y, etc etc but most people write a double you as a double vee.. just curious why that is? :) ive done the whole google thing and i know why its called double you instead of double vee due to old english etc but that doesnt mean we have to constantly write double vee when its double you.. (i write double you not double vee) :)

i think double vee might have originally come from German. because a double vee is prronounced as a regular 'v' in english. just as in german they have two A's together in a word. so my theory is that when the V's were put together they just made it one letter.

You're right, this is a fairly useless discussion but I admire the passion that you put into it as though it was the most important project in your life. It doesn't much give me pause if it is written as double u or double v but I just go with the usual of writing it the way my pen does it.

Its mainly because when we are taught in elementary school, we were taught to write it the Double "V" with the sharp points, not rounded. LOL Blame it on the educational system. ;O)
