How many hours do you sleep a day?

Every person should at least sleep 5 hours per day but not exceed 8 hours. Go below five and it means you lack sleep, go over eight hours and you are oversleeping, which is also not a good habit.
I know some people who sleep only once every three days. I can't believe how somebody can deprive him/herself with that liberty. I believe that sleeping is an important activity and everybody should get enough of it.
Now I'm wondering how many people sleep this way. or how many hours do they sleep a day? How bout you? How do you feel with your sleeping habit?

I think probably if we start some meditation or yoga before going to sleep we may be more relaxed. Have you tried it anytime?

I have a baby and wake up a lot.
Some people need more then eight hours of sleep, especially children and teenagers. Experts will tell you they need at least 10 -11 hours of sleep.Babies typically sleep between 12-16 hours each day - and need it!
I think those who get five hours may not be benefiting enough as they could be from sleep, as they do n't cycle through sleep stages as often. Sleep is important for overall health and well being, and keeps us young as it slows down body processes.
I feel refreshed only when I get at least eight hours of uninterrupted sleep, any less and I suffer.

Not only do I feel more refreshed on eight or more hours, and clearer and quicker to think/respond - but having a long nap helps as well!

Now I sleep almost 8 hours a day.I'm not quite complete with that.I think I have had enough sleep, but I'm still sleepy most of the day lately.Maybe I'm overslept.
I've heard that you need good quality sleep, not just long hours. If you wake up freshly ,and can keep fresh all the day, that mean you've get enough sleep, even if you slept 5 hours a day.But it differs from person to person, everyone just need to find their own good quality sleeping habits.

I sleep more or less than 8 hours... I'm not really sure, but I know this person who wouldn't go to sleep just so she could get thinner...

actually i depriving ourselves from sleep wouldnt make us thin. it works the other way around.
sleeping is a source of energy. If we deprive ourselves with it our body will switch to "SURVIVAL MODE"
meaning it will save up or store energy (fat is stored energy) because it knows that you don't have enough source of energy.
The good and healthy way to be thin is to LIVE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE.
so we have to get enough sleep. Eat healthy foods. Have a balanced diet. Get a regular exercise and avoid vices.
I hope your friend realizes that before she would end up looking like a zombie.

I feel like I am not getting enough sleep, but I sleep for about 8 hours each night. I am not sure what to do about it.

To get a good night's sleep is a blessing i feel. I know so many people who cannot get sleep and they try all sorts of things to induce sleep.I think I'm blessed i can sleep for a full 8 hours.if given a choice I may even sleep a little longer, but I have to be up.

I get about 6 hours a day sometimes less depends. My husband will sleep more then 8 if he can. I don't know how he does it. Not sure why he does it either. Maybe to get out of helping with the kids lol. He probably isn't even sleeping just acting like he is. He goes to bed at 7ish and doesn't wake up til 5ish go figure.

Sleep once every three days? And for how long do they do this? They could wind up with serious mental and psychological problems. I like sleep and I get what I need,I suppose. I wake up when I have had enough sleep and when I am tired and sleepy, nothing keeps me from my bed.

For me, I normally sleep about 5-8 hours a day when I have to go to university or if I have something on in the morning. However, if it's the holidays, I can have a great sleep-in and if I remember correctly, the longest sleep-in I ever did was like 15 hours straight. Haha, I know oversleeping is a bad habit and may even be unhealthy but sometimes, when your mind takes over your actions, there's little you can do about it! But these days, I try to be conscious of my sleeping habits and just the previous holidays I have been waking up quite early daily, which is something good and to be proud of.

I think the time i used to sleep is depend on the situation.I sleep more than 8 hours one day now.As a undergraduate,i have a few of lessons to study,i have many free time,so i have enough time to ensure my sleeping hour.In my opinion, sleep enough is so important to girl,it is better than makeup and tonic. When i studied in senior and junior middle school,i had lots of homework to do,so i only sleeped 5 or less hours.I believe,if i step into the society,i must have little time to sleep,so now i want to sleep more.

i'm a big time insomniac that's why there'r time when i don't sleep for maximum of 4 days.
it's unhealthy if you'd ask me. sometimes i tend to have my thoughts float to outerspace...
my patience also snaps easily when these insomnia attacks happen.
