Recently I started a discussion and someone I know responded on the first page. Then on page 4 I noticed the exact same response but by a different user. Evidently another member decided to copy and paste another members post…complete with the little +-! Symbols. I just couldn’t believe that someone would stoop to copying and pasting someone else’s response…like they can’t take 3 minutes and form their own thoughts. I contacted MyLot and they removed the copied post immediately so the problem is solved. I just can’t imagine why someone would do this. Have you ever caught anyone doing this? Why would anyone do something like this? Would you ever do something like this? **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

There have been one or two members who did this constantly, and I reported them, and they got banned. I have not seen this in a long time now. So sorry it is back.

Well, hopefully it will get nipped in the bud before it gets out of hand. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I haven't come across that yet but I have come across people responding to the same discussion 2 times with the same or basically the same answer. It would be one thing if there were a lot of responses but on one discussion the responder was response 12 and 15. Which falls on the same page, come on, give me a break you didn't know you responded 10 minutes before!?! I have also come across a new user that starts discussions she responds to. She will respond to your (not you directly) discussion then start the same discussion changing just a few words and putting it in a different intrest minutes later. I expalined to here that she should read the dos and don'ts of mylot and that she shouldn't do that. Not that it helped she is still doing it. MyLot hasn't removed the copied posts - says its not a copy and paste. Personally I would never copy some one elses answer. I know some of my answers are basically the same from post to post but the questions are often the same.

I've replied to the same discussion twice but it's b/c I don't remember replying the first time and there's usually a very marked difference in the time between them. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I remember the same thing happened not long after I joined! It was crazy, in one of my discussions I had THREE copied responses from that user...it was bad enough s/he thought I wouldn't notice one copied post but to do three just made it even more obvious. It wasn't just my discussions being hit so that person got reported a lot and I'm pretty sure disappeared very quickly...s/he was getting in 300-400 posts a day at least by doing that until mylot took care of things.

If it was 3 in a row, it is a possibility that they lost pateence & hit the Post button two more times before it went through.

No it wasn't like that. The same user posted 3 different times throughout the discussion, each was was a copy of different responses from within the same discussion.

Wow...hopefully it isn't coming back again. I reported it and hopefully MyLot will also keep an eye on them. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I have not seen that before and I am sure it was a shock to you. I reply to the discussion that I get in the email then I read what others had to say. I don't know why anyone would want to copy and paste someone elses response especially in the same discussion.

Copy Cat! - Shame on you!
That's one thing I'm NOT which is a copy cat. It's wrong and it's not the person's own self because they copied from someone else. How sad. Glad you caught it and alerted mylot associates because it's not fair to the rest of us to have to come up with our own thoughts to have someone else steal it.

So they can earn more money more quickly without having to actually do any of the work??? Good that you caught it and better that you reported it. I hope you also responded to the post that you saw what they did and were reporting it. They would then know someone figured it out and would be watching - someone besides MyLot.

I have copied my own writing, though, and posted it in multiple sites (mainly complaints about telemarketers where I just didn't want to type the same darned thing over and over and over). But, never here...not that I could. I'm not at 500 yet. LOL

I have seen this a few times in other discussions and it seems to always get pointed out. Its pretty silly but I suppose they hope that no one will notice cause they think so many dont actually read the posts. They just dont realize most of us are here for more than just the money.

WOW two, I never even dreamed of anything like this. Nothing ever even crossed my mind like this. I I, My goodness, I'm at a loss for more words. Really, I can not believe someone would do this. Why would they? Just to get a few cents? In any case it's wrong, just wrong.

It's good that you caught it. I would go to that person's profile page and look at some of their discussions, they probably have many more stolen comments. People like that need to be banned.

If I can't think of a response, I just move on. I might copy my own stuff if someone had a similar request and then add to or delete from it, but not take someone else's. Weird that they even did it for the same discussion. Like you wouldn't notice? Makes you wonder what they're on.

Greed and laziness lead to all kinds of things like that. Or perhaps desperation. Either way, it's wrong. I'm sure they'll be caught eventually, did you try to tell the original poster? That's what I would do. Let them sort it out. Or tell the copier that you're on to them and they should stop.

What's so funny was the original response that the member copied was my Hubby's response I posted a reply to the member telling him that I really liked his response in fact I liked it even better on page 1 where he copied it from MyLot deleted the whole response including my reply but that's ok b/c he would still get the email notice **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I can't say that i have. But i agree that it's cheating. If i'm going to respond to a discussion i try to make a contribution. If i read some of the comments and it's exactly what i want to say, then i dont add... or i expand on the comment. As to why someone would do this is beyond me, seeing that it's just as easy to get your point across without having to copy someone else's response word for word.

Hi, twoey68, Well, I dare not doing so to earn money in myLot and even other sites. I rather post my own thought and comment. I don't bother to check it out as I don't have those luxurious time. Hehe...

Where is the point in doing this I wonder, for the sake of a couple of moments thought. It's not something I have ever considered, and wouldn't attempt to do.

No I would not because it is important to me to be me and to express my thoughts and opinions even if it may seem stupid to another person. That is being dishonest. Now that it has been deleted I hope he/she ahs learnt the necessary lesson.

No I have never seen this. Wow good eye, nice catch. I have no idea why someone would bother. Maybe they just wanted to see what would happen. I wouldn't have done this. Seems really lazy to me.

I've never seen this or done it either. What is the point laziness I suppose as the person who copied must have thought what an easy way to get money with little effort. The only time I copy and paste another's comment is when I'm replying to it, as it makes it easier to see what they wrote. Sometimes I have forgot to cut the comment though.

That's amazing. If a discussion doesn't spark interest and make you think of a good comment, it's best to go on to the next one. You have to wonder about people. Wouldn't the copy-cat realize that people would discover this?
