Yes, u need to lose some weight.. Your height is not in proportion with your body weight.. Since your fat is focus on your buttocks and legs, i guess it must be due to sitting down too long or been sitting right after meals..
U can try running.. Though ple say it will make your legs looks bigger, but it's wrong.. U will actually more lean, together with a few legs and calfs exercises ^_^

hi kun2349,you are right.i sit down too long every day which makes a mass of fat storaged on my buttocks and legs.running slower does work on me but sometimes i'm indeed too lazy to keep on.

I'm in the US and I don't off hand know the conversion of cm & kg to feet and pounds. I'm half asleep, so looking it up seems like a lot of work right now. Whatever your weight, in my opinion what's important is having a healthy diet & being active, not what the scale reads.

i search on internet and find the conversion rate below:
1 kilogram = 2.205 pound
1 meter = 3.281 feet
so i'm around 5.25 feet with 121.28 pound

eden32 here is a kg tip for you and everybody who measures their weight in kg:
Take the length of the person and subtract by 100. Then you will have the max weight the person should be.
In this case it would be 60 kg. Which means that if 55 is really her weight she is certainly not overweight at all.

For your particular height your weight is ok.
I think only you can answer the question " do I need to loose weight ". You should do it for yourself and not to please/listen to what other's tell you.
As the fat is on your bum/leg's then some simple excercise's (walking/power walking/running) will get them area's in to shape without the need to diet.

Power walking is simply a very fast walk. You need to walk fast enough as not to jog, but fast enough to get the heart rate up.

in my opinion your weight is okay which means not too fat or too slim. your weight is proporsional in my opinion although it will be better if you able to make it to 50 kg only if you want to do it.
so far, if you feel comfortable with your current weight so just stay in your weight now

If your doctors says no, and you feel comfortable in your body, then no You don't need to loose weight. If you want to slim down and tone up a bit, try cutting down your calorie intake buy 20% and get some exercise everyday.

I think your weight is just fine. You don't need to lose weight anymore. If you feel your legs and buttocks are fat, why not try doing some exercises to tone them. Do exercises for hips, butts and thighs. Happy exercising!

Do you FEEL like you need to lose weight? It doesn't sound like it to me.
Everyone is built differently and I really get cross when people think that they have to meet standards of physical size and looks set by the media. They are so false!
I'm sorry to rant at you! I'm sure you are sensible and know what is right for you.

hello,
i dont think you are overweight, if you want to know what is the proper weight for your height then you can do a research to that and find out.
IMHO, if you are having a hard time walking or doing some stuff and you feel that it is because of your weight then i suggest that it is best to lose a little so you can feel better. i do that to myself so i dont have to feel terrible about myself.
there are some people whose body's proportion is like yours and i think it is genetic so there is nothing you can do about that not unless you will lose more than the normal weight loss.
my sister is the same but she is very proportion so she dont mind, i told her not to compare herself to me coz i have skinny legs and arms BUT id rather have her body though coz i think it is sexier that way LOL
takecare!

No you do not need to lose weight.
At 55 kg with a length of 1.60 m you are not considered overweight. However I can imagine that you are not happy with how your body has been proportioned. You can try taking more exercise. Keep in mind though that genetics do play a role. If your mother and grandmother had wide hips and heavy thighs then there isn't much you can do about yours except making sure you don't put on any excess weight.
