I haven't been there but my husband was born there. He loves the potstickers from street vendors - he says they - like all authentic Chinese food - taste better then the food you get here.
REally, though, any food from street vendors he loves. I hope to visit one day with our baby so he can meet his cousins and we can both experience the outdoor markets.
Welocme nikkiji!

sophialin, potstickers is likely the closest american name. He's been here a long time. He was born in Tai Pei, and I know many don't consider Taiwan to be China, anyway though he grew up in Japan on Okinawa as his mom and dad contract to American Bases. His mom actually has since become a US citizen - she divorced his dad and married an American. She still speaks Mandarin and another dialect and visits regularly and keeps in touch with relatives.
Nikkiji - I will keep your offer of tour guide in mind when we visit. We will likely also go around with my husband's cousins and family who live there as well. How sweet of you to offer!
