Do you ever buy paper plates to keep from having to wash so many dishes?

I also buy paper plates to get dishwashing breaks. Less to wash the better. I buy a pack every few months or so or whenever I run out. They are great to have on hand even if it is to line a real plate so it doens't get as dirty and easier to wash. We use them for everything except of course chili, soups and stuff like that. Great for unexpected get togethers like when my step went into the hospitable over the weekend I had 8 extra people showed up at my house wanting food I had to fix enough for 10 people took enough food to make me and hubby 4 or 5 meals. But so glad I had them paper plates and plastic silverware because I had just got done doing the dishes. And I always get left to clean them alone noone helps.

Nope, never. I think paper plates are just expensive and a waste of resources. I'd rather save my money and just wash dishes. If you don't want to wash dishes one night I don't see why people just can't leave them in the sink for later. Just seems like a better option.

i agree. i don't find the convenience of buying some paper plates for regular use (even for those lazy moments) except when there's a lot of people involved (parties, bbq, picnics). think of the hassle of buying the paper plates! go to the shop for plates. use. throw in the bin. get rid of the garbage bag full of paper plates out (with 75% of the content is the paper plates)
you can always leave the dishes untouched for later (especially those not heavily stained) or soak the plates in soapy warm water for a while and come back later to do it (most of the grease will leave the plates by then. easy)

Wow, just wondering, what's your nationality? I know for a fact that everybody in my family uses paper plates nowadays. My mom use to like regular plates but I think that we all got tired of washing dishes all the time. It doesn't matter whether I'm at my mom's house, my aunt, or brother's house, you will rarely see us use real plates. Paper plates are the way to go.

you are not alone. I do the same. I haven't lately only because I haven't had the extra money to buy the paper plates. but I agree its nice to have a break from doing the dishes. My inlaws use to wash their paper plates and reuse them, but what is the purpose of having paper plates if you are going to wash them. LOL they don't do that any more.

dinner in paper plates,, not my style. if possible i nver want to eat in paper plates, yes, i know washing dishes sucks but for me dining in paper plates is more bothering than washing those plates. i always want my dinner in those beautiful glass, ceramic or porcelaine plates... and please even those plastic plates wont sometimes do, yes! i admit i'am one of those people who wants luxury in eating hehe. but then again... when all else fails., of course we have no choice but to settle for less. ;p

Yes, we buy them all the time. Sometimes we get the plastic utensils, too.

I know it's so tired to wash so many plates after a meal. This is a housework that I don't like to do. However, I still don't want to buy paper plates although they are so convenient. I don't like wasting the source and I want to do something good for our environment.
I love China

Yes, I know I will usually do this during the summer. Or if I am planning on having company come over, I will. This does help a lot. My grandmother does this a lot.. I find this very useful.. I get so tired of washing the dishes every time I turn around. To eliminate this problem, I will just wash the dishes late that night, while my kids are asleep.

Yes. Although it isn't good for the environment to waste the trees and paper, sometimes I do.

I always make sure there are paper plates in the house. Of course you can't use them for everything, but we do use them as much as possible. I've even bought cereal bowls that are disposeble. I take breaks in any way I can, I think we all deserve it.

As a matter of fact, we do. We aren't ashamed of it either. We don't have to be on a picnic to use paper plates. We use plastic flatware and cups too..I don't even know why we have plates. We use bowls though. I do have to some dishes. We just like to save our time to spend time with each other and our daughter. We don't like to spend all that time doing dishes.

I like using paper plates during festive occasion or family gathering. I use porcelain plates and bowls to hold food. Foods for guests are served in paper plates. They can dispose of the dirty plates and use new paper plates for other foods. I don’t have to worry not enough plates in the gathering. Using paper plates could save much labor on washing dishes as well.

I don't buy them for this specific reason, but I will buy them for a cookout, for example, and have a bunch left. There will be nights where I say "paper plates tonight" because the thought of doing any dishes is about more than I can handle!

We use paper plates all the time, thats all we have. So when its time to do dishes, all I have to wash is silverware and cups, and whatever I used to cook with. I like them, cause all you have to do is throw them away, its easy...lol.

You're not alone at all. :)
I give myself a break on Friday night. That is designated as our movie/pizza/family night. I use paper plates that evening so I don't have any dishes to do. There's usually enough space for the drinking glasses in the dishwasher, so that doesn't take any time at all.
This way, I get a break one night a week and a stack of paper plates lasts a long while for us.
