Popcorn or no popcorn?

I never get popcorn at the movie theater. It's so expensive plus it's very unhealthy. I read once that the amount of fat and sodium in it is more than you should have the entire day. I usually don't eat at the theater but if I watch a movie at home I like to have trail mix, air-popped popcorn without butter, fruit, and other healthy snacks. It is annoying sometimes to hear other people chomping and crunching or unwrapping crinkly plastic candy or chip packages when you're trying to watch a movie.

Well. It is okay, just as long as the popcorn is very hot and buttery.. I tend to find the movie theatres to be a bit cold sometimes.. It is only annoying if someone is always talking or moving from seat to seat.. So far, all of the ones I have went to was decent and quiet.. No complaints here.

I prefer to eat after seeing the movie.These days popcorn is too expensive and back in the day when I would get popcorn I would have eaten it before the film.

i love movie theatre popcorn! it's one of my favourite reasons for going to the movies. i like it with extra butter and a bunch of different seasonings. i usually get a little cup to put extra seasoning in so that i can add more inside the theatre! mmm-mmm i think i might call up one of my friends and see if she wants to go see a movie! lol!

ya it is distracting.......if the movie is nice, but if its a dumb movie then it really doesn't matter at all. at those dumb movies anything edible to chew or drink is good............

If I am in a movie theater, there must be popcorn. I don't always finish it (I bring it home for later), but it just adds so much to the movie-going experience. I hate people who get Candy that has plastic wrapping, though. That is so annoying. It's loud and crinkly and extremely distracting. I don't think movie theaters should sell products that come in crinkly plastic that people have to reach in and out of constantly to get their food.

No popcorn. Because I don't like to dirty my hands LOL. Really, I just think it is a bit distracting both to myself and others. And besides, I don't like popcorns that much anyway.

I don't mind eating popcorn in the cinema. It's not distracting and annoying to me but not sure about the other viewers =P. I usually eat sweet popcorn. I like cheese popcorn as well.

Well I used to like eating popcorns inside the movie house until I ate a cockroach that was inside the packet. I now have a genuine reason not to buy popcorns since they are very expensive in my country. If I had a choice I would choose to snack on a chocolate.

vermillion, I love eating snacks at the movie! It isn't distracting or annoying to me, and I hope it isn't to those around me. I usually get a small popcorn, no butter, trying to limit those calories, you know. It just makes watching a movie more fun. And gotta have that bottle of water, too. In my younger years, I got Milk Duds, too. But those days are over (too many calories, alas). PearlGrace

I used to not be able to watch a movie in the theater with out popcorn when I was a kid. But these days the price of movie tickets and refreshments has gone up sooo much that I usually chew gum when I go to a movie to save money and keep my mouth occupied. xD

I like eating while watching movie. Even though, I think it is not a good habit because it will make me gain weight. But, when I feel my stomach full, I don't buy anything at all, just bring a bottled water. I don't think eating popcorn can be annoying, unless you toss it to the air :)

Well I don't like to eat popcorn while watching movie, to distracting you concentrate more on the popcorns than the movie lol. And it's dark in the cinema so it's easy to do something wrong when you're eating if you know what I mean. /Degger

I actually don't eat anything while I'm watching a movie. Once in a while, I might buy a bottle of water. The costs of the snacks there are so high that I don't want to contribute to them. If I do buy a snack, which is extremely rare, it's usually a bag of candy or something.

Hi There, I myself do not usually eat popcorn when I am out watching a movie. I do indeed find it to be distracting and it is not something I need to do. My daughters however always chow down on it. They get huge tubs of it and always finish the whole things. I do find all the munching around me to be distracting when I am trying to watch a movie. cheers,

Sometimes I do eat popcorn and sometimes I don't. If it;s a good movie and I'm in to it my eating or some eles eating popcorn doesn't really bother me. If I'm trying to get into it thought it bugs me to hear chewing.

No, I usually do not eat popcorn. I usually eat a bowl of chips and a chocolate bar and have a can of coke or something of that sort. This is at home though. At the movie theatre itself, I usually just get some candy or a chocolate bar and some pop/soda.

I usually have some nacho or hotdog. That's part of the entertainment. With theatre revenues dwindling because of internet and DVD, movies houses may need to provide more gourmet food to attract audience :)

i prefer chips more than popcorn. and the annoying part about watching in the movie house is when there are kids and they get really noisy, or when groups of people don't care about the other people who watch and make noise!
