Everyone is going to Hell except me

I'm seeing this a lot here. People post about how their religion is the best and how everyone should abandon their own path to follow what ever it is that they are currently preaching about. It is sad how these post often don't even make sense (I wonder if they make sense to the people that post them) and so have no chance of being even a little bit successful. These posts are often also followed by about 5-6 replies by the same person stating the same thing with no new content. Can anyone explain to me why this has to happen?

Well, everyone knows that you won't end up in garo-demana if you don't believe though!
Back to rationality though, I can see why they'd do it. For many, it's all they know and they actually have good intentions. I mean, if we're to look at it from their point of view, we're going to suffer eternal damnation in the pits of Hell if we don't follow their views. The just want the best for us. However, they need to take a step back and realize that their views are just one in thousands and there is no doubt that their's could be completely false.

I can see that they have good intentions but it gets annoying quite quickly. Is it not said that the road to Hell is paved with good intentions?
The last part of your post reminds me of something that happened on South Park. They were showing a crowd of people that had just arrived in Hell and someone said "Hey, hold on a minute, I'm a devout Christian. Why am I here?" and the answer was obviously that Christianity was not the correct faith and so they get to burn with everyone else. South Park is great...

Oh of course, I'm not saying it's not annoying. I'd probably be the first to jump on them the second they start preaching.

I think most people get annoyed by preaching unless it is on a topic that they agree with, in which case what is really the point of preaching about it?

I'm tired so reading right now is a bit more difficult for me than normal. Would it really kill you to split your post into these funny new things called "sentences"? You know, those things with capital letters at the beginning and full stops at the end.
Have you ever considered that God might want you to figure out what the right thing to do is on your own rather than running to him with every little problem and being a blind follower?

Thanks for retyping everything, I know that I have made the same mistake a few times of deleting everything. When I do it, it is usually because I select everything for a spellcheck but then if I press the wrong button I lose it all.
Davy Jones' locker... Yarr...
I agree with how you say people should worry about themselves. The world is full of terrible people and if they all improved themselves the world would be a better place. Unfortunately, some people will never do that and so we are stuck in the world we are in now.

Well I'm catholic and I don't shove my religion in other people's faces. I do like to learn about other people's religion and stuff and I'm open to having people teach me about their religion. I'm not really like that. Although if someone does ask me about religion I am going to talk about it and explain it to them, but I don't shove it in people's face.

It is good that you are not going to hell isn't it. I have not seen anyone saying their religion is the best. They tried to educate persons about God. Religion is very ticklish and is not everyone want to be involved. As for as I am concern the good discussions will receive five or six responses.
Look at the one's that receive over 15 responses. Some of them are stupid and nonsensical. Think about it.

but those new heavens and earth are figurative. the heavens prophetically refer to the current world government in thier current forms. those will be destroyed, not by any human, but by Gods apointed judge which would be his son Jesus (also known as Michel the Archangel). and replaced with Gods kingdom. The earth in this case reffers to those who follow those governments. These two entities will be effaced from earth leaving only those who are found worthy to be there, true servants of God. the litteral earth according to the bible will stand forever, not be destroyed. it was designed for perfect humans to inhabit. that was his purpose for it and it hasnt changed.
now as to posting to same discussions without anything to add...i would have to agree. thats why if i dont have anything to add i dont post out of curtisy to those reading those posts. each post should have a different point of view so that people can really get a good buffet of different ideas that they can consider.

Right or wrong, people can be very passionate about things. Some people are raised from birth to believe that their religion is the only true one, that there is no room for discussion of the possibility of accepting the way that others choose to worship. I feel more sadness for people like this than anger. Their closed minds keep them from learning and experiencing the joy that all who love God share.

So basically you are saying it is because of the repetitive (brainwashing?) affirmations in the formative years that cause people to believe passionatly in the religion. It makes sense. And nobody can really say if they are being taught to believe the truth or not.
