My sister in law is cooking for us tonight. While I sit on mylot I can smell the food upstairs cooking. I gotto say it smells Yummy. It is some sort of taco casserole. I can't wait. I have never eaten anything she has cooked that I didn't like. Waht about you? Do you enjoy the food, or fake it out of politeness?

Ummmm,I will plead the 5th on this because I don't want to find ground up worms in my food next time....lol OKay just kidding but I will say that sometimes what smells good isn't always so good and tasty and I find I get so disappointed food wise because of it.But I guess we can't all be good cooks

after i think about this, strangely I do like all food that my family and relatives prepares. all my family members can cook it turn out. Or I just too used to their cooking? Anyway, if I had to be in that situation, i will fake it once for politeness and never accept their dinner invitation ever again.

Most of the time I cook for the family as I am quite a good cook, but I don’t mind my hubby cook occasionally so that I can have a break. Having the food someone else is a treat for me as I don’t have to cook that meal. Why not? In the mean time, I can learn other’s cooking tips to better mine. LOL

my husband cooks for me and he has that magic touch that just about anything he cooks comes out good. Even if its something new he is trying and making up a recipe as he goes. It still will come out really good. I wish I could do that. I'm jealous. If I like it I will say its good if not I will tell them. I do that with anyone. lol If you lie then you may have to eat it again.

In usual, I am easy-going. I will enjoy others to cook for me. At least they have tried their best to cook for me and I shall be happy to it. I love China

It is a rare occassion that someone cooks for me so when it happens, I enjoy it. When I am cooking I often get put off of the meal coz of the fumes, you know...but when someone else cooks it tastes fab

I usually don't like when someone else cooks for me because they do not season things the way that I like to eat it. My husband for instance, was a cook in the Army for many years. They were never allowed to use salt or pepper or antyhing like that when cooking. Now that he is out of the military, he hardly ever seasons things while it is cooking. He may remember or do it afterwards and I just don't like the tatse of it most of the time. I go ahead and eat it though instead of wasting it and hurting his feelings.

delicious Chinese food - I love Chinese food very much of whatever cooking style it is. It is just so delicious and I cannot resist my temptation for a good taste.
Hello dear ersmommy. To begin with, I am lazy in cooking as I do not want to spent much time cooking, so I always appreciate the person whoever cooks for me and I enjoy the food even if sometimes it does not match my taste. I think that it is a must for me to show my politeness and respect to my chef who cooks for me. Thank you so much for the discussion, dear friend. Take care.

I actually trust very few people's cooking. Silly, but I have a fear of uncooked food, particularly meat. I rarely eat it. I almost trust eating out more than I trust eating in, because I know that there are federal laws that they have to abide by in the preparation of food. Not to say that I'm stupid enough to believe every single restaurant abides by these laws, but it is my hope that most would.

I typically enjoy the food others make for me. If i dont actually like it I wont say so. However if its something i cannot eat I will say no I can't have this sorry. (example I cant eat any shellfish, milk products containing lactose). I would honestly rather eat something someone else cooked than my own cooking/ Its not that I can't cook Its that i prefer not to.

It depends on what is the food cooked. Normally I won't give a negative commend but will say something like not salty enough or too sweet...etc. Would not like to offend the host and at the same time do not like to fake the commend.

free food or food someone esle cooks for you is always the best as far as i'm concerned. I wish my husband would cook for me more, he has to be prodded to do it unless we are having salmon which is his favorite food. he's an expert.

yeah it's a bit weird. i enjoy the food that somebody else prepared rather than the food that i have prepared myself. even if everybody says mine tastes better.

Off the top of my head I can't recall a time anyone else has cooked that I didn't like the meal. Now mother-in-law can come up with some meal plans let me tell you. We went to their house for Christmas one time and she had fried chicken and lasagna. I was floored. I kept wondering where the turkey and ham and dressing was. As the years have went by I have come to realize my mother-in-law is not a woman of common tunnel vision. There is no telling what she might be setting on her table. But I have never come away dissatisfied. She has come up with some of the best menus but couldn't tell you later how she made it.

I'll fake it, if I don't like it. I don't want to upset anybody. My MIL on the other hand has mastered the fake polite 'this is great' with a face that tells otherwise, if you know it. She has never liked anything I cook. Just nothing I cook is up to her standards, lol. Everybody else eats and has seconds. She'll say it tastes good and then politely cover her plate. It's not that it doesn't taste right. She just doesn't like me, lol. We tested it. My husband will say he cooked it and she is full of praises, eats it and has seconds. The next time we'll say I cooked it and she is up to her game. We mix it up although it's always me cooking. I guess she just hates me. Funny thing is, she isn't a great cook herself, lol.

I'm usually very laid back. If it's okay but not great I'll not make any remark. After all they put a lot of effort into it. If it's not all that great a few times in a row I'm apt to conclude that our tastes just don't coincide and will avoid going if I'm invited to dinner. However something isn't right I'll mention it. Once I was at a friends house and they offered my some cashews. I thought they tasted odd. Well that happens sometimes I thought to myself. So I tried another couple but they all tasted weird. Finally I had a quick look at the tub they were in and it was about a week past their due by date. I pointed that out to the hostess and she was very apologetic. She'd just bought them the day before!
