Ever gone shopping when hungry? What extra things did you buy?

My husband and I were partying a little on the weekend, and we realized we were out of dog food. So we decided to go to the store. He wanted hot peppers, too. So off we went. Well, we smoked some ganga and then went in the store. Well, $211 later, as we walked out, I said, "Yeah, smoke ganga a go shopping, just brilliant! What were we thinking?" The grocery store even had some original "Brooks" T-Shirts that we bought, too. His says, "Exposing yourself to Nature" and has a fella wearing a lumberjacket with no pants on and all the forest animals are there. I think the gist is that he is releiving himself out in nature. ha haa And mine says, "In Tune with Nature", and has a pic of the forest animals playing musical instruments, so I take it to mean that I am a Rockin' Chick, that is 'in tune'. Just a Warning: Don't ever go shopping with the muchies. You may buy everything in sight......! So what have you bought at the store when you were hungry that you really didn't need?

Oh Annie, I so know what you're talking about here!!! Big mistake, going to the grocery store when you've got the munchies. And you, well I, end up with all sorts of goodies that I don't need and sweets and packages of safety pins and a pound of strawberries, a couple of cantelopes, 3 bags of onions on sale, hair color, anything that strikes my fancy! Bad idea. And going when you're just plain hungry is just as bad. But are we gonna stop smoking that stuff? Nope. I'm not. You're not. But $211! Wow, that's a lot of dough, darlin! I usually spend around $100. Over $200 is huge! You're good. Or bad, as the case may be. Hey, where's my battie? I need a buzz!

I know, I can't usually get out of the grocery store without spending $100, but geez, when it was over $200, I've never done that before. WOW! But, nope, not going to stop smoking it. It is just too good of an organic herb with so many useful properties.... What is a battie? Do you mean BOB?

shucks yes Annie. In fact I make sure I have had a meal before I go, especially on weeks our budget is kinda tight. Everything in the store looks good and I have expensive tastes to be gin with. Real cheese cakes, seafood delicacies all wind up in my basket and when the total is wrung up I am left wondering what mad woman used my cart as a storage device, and where in the hell all of this stuff came from? I so have been there done that!

I have, but I try not to. Everything looks good when you go in to a grocery store hungry. I always take a list and stick to it, so I avoid the impulse buying.Thst kilss a budget. If I go in hungry and succumb to the urges, I guess something sweet is what calls to me the most. For my husband it is more salty or snack type stuff.

I know, terrible what hunger can do when in a store full of every kind of food imaginable. I usually have a list, too.

I have definately done that, and it gets expensive really fast! The other thing I learned not to do was to take my teenage son and three of his buddies grocery shopping with me!

Yep, they can be huge consumers for sure. Big mistake, I agree. 4 Teenage boys would be the equivalent of major munchie attack, without any MJ.

I used to dread sending my husband to the grocery store for just one item as sure enough he would' be back with three or four sacks of all sorts of gourmet items like oysters and crab and jellies 'and jams and well just everything exotic. It' was a learning experience for me for sure. One item became more like thirty. But it was sort of fun to open up some of these things that I would never buy but did like to eat.

I think overall, almost everyone has done it at one time or the other. Going shopping when you are hungry does usually add on to your grocery bill because everything looks good then. I have personally found it easiest to stick to a Shopping list when I have just ate, and so we try to make this a habit now before doing much shopping and it usually does help.

You can ask which words you do not understand and I will explain for you if you want. Yes, it is a smart thing to do, eating first prior to shopping.

I've bought all sorts of things when hungry. I try to avoid going shopping that way, sometimes I'm even able to fight off the cravings. However when I can, I end up buying pizza, sandwhiches, junk food and all sorts of wonderful stuff. I hate it. I don't have enough money to spend as it is so I can't waste it on all that stuff I do not need.

Yep, I did that once recently, too. As I walked into the grocery store, realized I was hungry, so went straight to the deli counter and bought something instant, so I wouldn't make bad choices while shopping.

I have tried this. It was actually terrible. I feel so awkward to have felt that way. I really stopped shopping and eat in a restaurant. I always think that it's really good to have a full stomach than to have nothing. It can make you think better.

I bought the parking lot. No one else wanted it and I got it cheap. I now have 6 dozen cars and trucks. Would you like to buy a car? How about a truck? Never go shopping with your soon to be ex having a mid-life crisis.*sigh*

Nope, no Fords here, you know that the SO won't work on anything but Chevy or GM. You mean your soon to be ex's truck. Nah. But that cute little red sports car over in the corner that needs a little work is cute. Let's just take it for a test drive, huh? Just you and me. Now, where should we go?

I do NOT allow myself to go to the grocery store unless I've just completed a complete meal!!! I buy way too much when full & not even gonna admit what I might do if hungry. Just forget the munchies as the bank won't give me a loan!!! If you came out with more than $200 in groceries, you must be having one helluva party!!!

The stuff I buy if I decide to go shopping when I am hungry, is unbelieveable, and I'm so hungry, I don't even care how much money I spend, which puts me in debt at the end of the month. I usually hit all of my favourites; seafood, imported cheeses, the bakery, YUMMY!!! Come to think of it, I shoudln't answer questions like this wen I'm hungry, or it'll tempt me to go shopping and buy something! haha

Hi. AnnieOakley1. In the past, I will buy a bunch of snacks. And, my buggy looks so much filled up with nothing but sweet snacks. So now, I make sure that I don't fill up with so many snacks when I am hungry. I opt for nutritious snacks only.
