What brand of writable DVD disc do you find reliable, suitable for backup purposes? How long do they last for you? Please share your experiences on burning disc. Thanks in advance.

4 years! Thats a good brand. I'll check that Moserbaer, its a new one for me. You must have a special caring procedure for that.

I find those cases space hungry but that the right way. Hey Moserbaer is from India and according to their site they're 2nd largest producer, no wonder. Thanks Photoshopfun.

I once used Lite-On twice but I'm not satisfied on it. It doesn't read and burn all the disks and it easily heated. Currently I'm using LG. It has been for me for 2 years. It reads all disks. It doesn't heat easily. No failures of burning unless it's the disk's problem. I've already burned more than 350 DVD disks and until now it's working.

LG is a good burner brand and 2 years disc is relatively young. You really are a disc burner with more than 350, I never even come close to half of that. Thanks for sharing Royaks and welcome to myLot.

I don't knw why, maybe it's a batch thingy again? But I find Lite-On writers quite realiable. Never encountered the problems you mentioned.

I'm currently on OEM brand DVD discs. I sell mostly HP DVD discs as they have a 1-to-1 change if the disc doesn't burn. You don't have that with other brands I think. The lasting part really depends a lot of times on the write speed as well when you burn your files onto the DVD. Especially music & audio files. The faster speed you use to burn it, the faster it'll give way
