We lost one of the great movie directors Monday, Kevin Pollack. he directed many classic American movies . He directed The Way We Were,Out Of Africa, Tootsie among many others. What I liked that he did that only a few directors would do is really get to know the screenwriter. he would have dinner with them and really discuss their work.So when he transformed their work into film , it was as close as you could get to the original idea.I will miss you Kevin. Rest In Peace.

I think The Firm with tom cruise was probably my favorite Sydney Pollack movie. Although when his name is mentioned I tend to think of They Shoot Horses Dont They? Not to mention his acting; especially in Stanley Kubricks Eyes Wide Shut and more recently Michael Clayton (both smaller roles. I always thought he was a very talented director.
