I love spicy food. I will lick my lips and go oooooolalah! It is a pity that I don't have friends around me who can really eat spicy stuffs. Otherwise, we can really go to those "Spicy Parties" lol. :P Are you one of those who love spicy food too? Or do you find milder versions more palatable? Or... ?

I have never liked spicy foods. I always get the mild version of stuff. When we order tacos from Taco Johns we always tell them to go light on the sauce as it is even to spicy. I don't like spicy chips.

I'm afraid my taste buds prefer mild.. some things will taste hot to me, that other family members don't think is hot at all! I have to remind my son whenever he does the cooking not to make it too hot! I'm adapting though.. don't want to discourage his cooking! Not when it means I don't have to cook that meal!

...Even if my son says something is not hot at all.. I'm still leery!

I am a spicy foods person. I cook with a lot of different spices. I keep red pepper flakes on my kitchen table as a condiment, like salt and pepper. When I go out to eat at a Mexican restaurant, I always use the hot salsa and habenero sauce on the table.

Spicy foods are delicious but I can't stand the burning! I have to opt for the milder stuff. I'm a real wimp when it comes to spice, and I know I'm missing a lot of good flavor.

Well, living in Texas, we eat a lot of spicy food. It does sometimes bother my husband but so far not me. Of t.some of those hot peppers are REALLY hot. Around here you almost have to like Mexican, or Tx-Mex foods which is all spicy.

Not only does spicy food taste good; it also speeds up your metabolism and promotes cardiovascular health.

But one problem is that spicy food is usually oily so on one hand, faster metabolism rate helps one to lose weight, the oily part spoils it.

I love spicy food, although I think not as much as I used to, at least some things that I used to love taste a bit too spicy now :) My son also loves spicy food, even more than I ever did heheheheh What most people think is hot is just perfect for him:) But in general most of us in our family like the food spicy with the exception of my mom that is here now. We have been having a bit of trouble trying to balance the spices in our food so she can eat it as well :):):)

I love them. As I have already told in one of your discussions that in my part of the world, the foods are normally spices, some extra spices, and I love them to bits. So much so that trying the best foods here in Frnce haven't changed my liking of our traditional meals. I think that whole region (the south Asia) is very spicy. There is a local dish there that is made just from meat, lot of green chillies, black chillies and vinegar. It is so hot that one can't eat it without sweating, even in winter. You would find people with reddened ears, lips and face, sometimes holding their tongues out to give a break to them. It's such a dish that on every bite, one would declare that they aren't eating anymore but the next moment they would be taking another bite. Same happens again, and again, nd again. Like something you can't eat for being toooo hot, but can't leave for being tooooo tasty. It is called "Mirch Gosht", [Mirch(Chilli)and Gosht (meat)]. And, that's just one example, LOL!

Dear friend, I am from South India and here we use lots of spice in our food. Mostly we call that as curry and among them Sambar is most special and common it is mostly with a mixture of masalas and it is packet with many spices mixed and with this and potatoes , onions, chillies and other spices are also added. It is a side dish used for meals or mostly with rice.

I love spicy foods but not too spicy. I don't like it when it is overdone with spices. Then I can't eat it because my stomach says no. Now that I am older I can't eat spicy food as much as I used to when I was younger. My daughter likes spicy food very spicy, the more the better, for her. Like I said I used to be like that but as I have aged I have had to put less and less spices on as I get an upset stomach and when I go to the bathroom it burns too much.

Oh yes, I love spicy food. I can take chillies or chilli paste with almost anything. And I like to drink a bit of water after some good spicy food. Most people believe that it helps to calm the spicy taste, but as far I know in fact it is contraproductive, as the water wash and clean your taste buds, so they can feel the burning with renewed sensitivity. I'm not sure if it's true, but in any case it works for me and I like it :o)

I love spicy food. Here in Canada, the tendency is when the dish is spicy such as salsa or Indian curry, they will make a milder version because us here in Canada do not like things too hot, but that is a wrong assumption. When I was young, we would sometimes get Indian curry dishes -one being shrimp curry when we visited friends of either my parents who were better off than us and marvelous cooks to boot and I liked it very hot. The same with chili. When we buy the canned chili, we will get the hot kind. My husband does not like it very hot, except for the chili, he loves that.

I can eat spicy food and do enjoy it, but there's a point where it's so hot you can't taste the food so I draw the line there. I've discovered an indian curry called a dansak that I really like which is medium hot that level of spice is ideal for me. I always used to just order Korma's so it's a nice change to be eating something different. Me and my partner also like to make curry's and use fresh chilli's if we can, and I am actually growing some chilli's this year too and I have 19 plants so we should have plenty.

I know what you mean. I love spicy food but I draw the line somewhere too - I hate it when food gets so hot that it basically just numbs your tongue... then food becomes bland.

i love spicy food, the more spicy the better. however, there's two kinds of spicy here where i live. there's zesty spicy as in chilli hot, the kind that makes your lips tingle. and then there's aromatic spicy, where a lot of spices are used. i love both kinds, be it a dish that's full of spices, or a dish that makes me sweat like a horse. like i've mentioned in my previous posts, i live in singapore. this is a place where you can get your fill of chilli anywhere. maybe you should consider visiting Asia where chilli is popular in many countries. cheers.

Yes, I feel the same way. I don't care much for bland it has to have jalapenos or cayenne in it. Of course if it's so hot I can't taste the dish than it's overkill.

I like spicy food, but I do need to limit the amount I eat because I get really bad heartburn from the spicy food. I eat a lot of very bland food for this reason.

Don't eat it too frequently if your body can't take it... just a bit occasionally...
