I find so many things upsetting and depressing - the war in Iraq, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Darfur, and other places, famine, corruption, human right abuses that happen all over the world, terrorism, suicide bombers, poaching of animals to near extinction, pollution, deforestion, the clubbing of seals to death, the killing of whales and dolphins, the bear bile farms, natural disasters that cause massive loss of life... I could go on and on.
Do you ever feel depressed at the state of our world?

I feel sorry for those people that are affected by the things that you mentioned, all the wars and the killing of the animals for their fur. But since they are the signs of the times it really doesn't make me depressed because they are a sign the the return of Jesus Christ will soon return to put an end to all these things.

At this point to be depressed at the state of the world is minor. This will not get any better. For everything has a time that it will have to come to an end. Mankind is slowly working towards that end. The planet has had enough and soon all will know. I have gotten us to the things that are going on right now. It could be happening anywhere. Right now things have not really affected the us. But there will come a time when this will be right at your door and there will be nothing you can do to stop it.

I understand your feeling of apathy and that is how I feel at times when I feel hopeless about the world we live in. Sometimes, I tell my husband, it would be good if a big asteroid did crash into earth... I think we deserve it cause we have failed miserably in protecting this beautiful earth and its inhabitants.

I do feel depressed but not for long. I'm a Christian and believe that no matter what happens God is in control and it is his will.
I believe a lot of these things have been going on but we are able to get news so quickly and so much of it these days it seems way worse.
But I do believe that we are in the last days and Jesus will soon return.

I am not a Christian but I do believe in God. I always wonder why God allows all these bad things to happen, then I tell myself that perhaps it's a way of controlling the world population, perhaps it's karma. Only God knows!
