Music does help me deal with things. I don't listen to it as much as I did before, but I've found that it really helps me relax and tune out things. Plus it really helps keep me calm and get rid of anxiety and all of those emotions that would otherwise just bottle up and never get released. I'm not sure why music has that affect on me but it just does.

I listen to it in my car most times. I think it's to avoid the traffic idots and keep me calm. Sometimes while on the comp I will toss in a CD or load a radio page. It is relaxing and calming a lot for me.

sophiasmom911_ Someone else ran a discussion like this and I answered that one. I don't know if it's okay to use the same answer twice, so I'll say this:
Yes, there is a certain type of music I enjoy.
Other times, I have a Theta meditation CD that I use to clear my mind. Something in the notes and sounds takes me somewhere else.
When it's over, 45 min. or so, my brain is refreshed, relaxed and my creativity has returned.
I also love that song they used to play on the radio
"So, you had a bad day_" If you don't get annoyed by it, the song does pick up your mood.

A lot of times when I am moody I listen to classical music. It soothes me and relaxes me tons. Ever so often I listen to Gospel and or Christian Rock for getting rid of some bad thoughts etc. Music is for the soul mostly I feel.

Sometimes. It all depends on what is bothering me or on my mind. If I want to relax, I like to listen to soft music. If I am happy but a little bit nervous, I like to listen to music that is a little more upbeat. When I am mad or down, I usually sit in silence. I try to regain my thoughts and think things through without noise.

I enjoy listening to Christian music most of all. Though listening to instrumental music I can find soothing as well. I also enjoy listening to natures sounds it helps me escape and relaxes me!

Obviously it depends on the mood I'm in as to what kind of music I listen to. I used to listen to music really loud, mostly rock, when I was angry. I don't really do that very much anymore. I guess the old addage applies, "music soothes the savage beast." LOL.

Music really changes my mood. If it's music that I like it can cheer me up no matter what te problem is, and if it's music I don't like, there is a reason why I don't like it...because the danged music gives me flashbacks to something I really don't want to remember!

Music has always been my saviour in times of being down, it is better than choccy for boosting the spirits. When I am low in mood I just put a dance track on or a tune and sing and dance my cares away!

Absolutely. I think everybody finds music comforting in some form or another. That's what makes music so great. It's not silly at all if you find something that speaks to you. I think people will be less stressed if they took the time to listen to lyrics and melodies. If it can work for an infant, it can work for an adult.

your right. As infants this is comforting to us. So as adults we should still find it comforting!
