How do you recharge your mental batteries (or body) when you feel drained?

When you feel too tired or over-worked, how do you recharge your mental or physical batteries, so that you can move on? Do you go on vacation? Do you watch TV? Do you talk with friends on the phone or just take a nap?
For the last few weeks, I haven't had much sleep. And, it's really starting to take it's toll on my health. I feel very run down, so to speak. I feel like I've been awake forever.
So, tonight, I took a micro-break and watched some online TV shows. I got to see a couple minutes of my favorite show, Psyche on USA online. The time away from work and housework, really helped me feel better. I think I'll get better sleep tonight.
Any suggestions for handling stress and recharging yourself, when you feel run down? Please share.

Sometimes I take a shower and feel myself recharging so to speak. Sometimes I just veg out and watch tv or read books. Sometimes the only thing that is useful is taking a nap. It is the best thing to do sometimes. Nothing can recharge you like taking a nap.

Showers always make me feel so much better. But, naps are the best. You're right about that!

When I'm tired, I just lie down and listen to my iPod. I just listen to some relaxing music for a few hours and then I'm good for a few days. Sometimes I just play video games such as shooting ones, they get my heart racing when it's in the middle of the night, then I sleep like a baby!

For me, I just take a good sleep and listening to my favorite music will always help me get back the energy that I lost. Watching Tv won't help me relax because when I am tired, my eyes is also painful. SO by closing it and shutting down my brain will help me relax 100%

Lack of sleep does not help your physical or mental energy level. I know that first hand. Stress and worry keep me wide awake, htne slow me down Sometimes just getting out of the house for awhile, a short walk, seeing something new, talking to someone positive. Quick high energy snacks sometimes help. A change of some kind is good, even if it is something very small.

i love to sleep... so i will usually sleep when i am over-tired to recharge my body... and i feel much better when i wake up and i can do my tasks again... otherwise, i just go for a walk and window shopping, watch movies on DVD, read books or call my friends... take care and have a nice day...

I really like naps. I didn't even realize how much I liked (or needed!) them until my doctor told me that I really needed to take them because of my blood issues. It's made a huge difference in the way I feel!
Another thing that really works, is to just play with my toddler for a while. We do whatever he wants to do, and I tell him that he has an hour to do whatever he pleases, and I won't worry about cleaning, cooking, or doing any work while we are doing. Telling him that really helps me release all of those things and concentrate on just him.
If he's the reason that I'm stressed out, though, just sitting and reading sometimes works, or taking him for a walk, as long as he isn't actively throwing a fit.

If I can't sleep but still want to try and rest at least my body I'll lay down on the sofa and read a magazine and have a small "midnight snack". It helps to relax my mind by distracting myself doing something I enjoy. Hope you get some rest soon!

i do it these ways. first, i'l surf the internet on some life inspiring words of wisdom. then i'l surf again on some beautiful views in a beach resort around the world. when doing that, i feel more relax before i go to bed to have a good sleep.

When I am that tired, I prefer to do nothing or something quite. For example, I will go to the library to do some reading or go out alone to seek for a release. Besides, I will just watch movies or TV shows all night. Or simply eat as much as I want. After that, I will feel better.

Hi. When I'm dog tired, I play with my kids for awhile..My eldest jokes around and I would have a hearty laugh, and sometimes tears of happiness..Just to hear them laughing rejuvenates me and takes away my stress..Then we would all sleep in one bed, hugging each other..Sometimes, I just lay in the tub and think of happy moments..Or if my husband is on leave or it's his day off from work, he will make me breakfast in bed, cook our lunch and dinner, tend to the kids and do some of the household chores..It's like it's my day off too..He won't allow me to do anything for a day..

When am stressed out, listening to music helps me a lot. I often watch TV and movies to feel relaxed. Also talking to friends and going out for a coffee helps a lot (which unable to do these days due to Baby). Try to talk to people who have positive attitude towards life also helps in destressing.

When I feel this way, I will definitely indulge myself in activities I like doing. I would probably watch movies, sing songs, read interesting books, surf my favorite sites, chat with friends, go on a vacation. To unwind is what we should be doing from time to time.

When I am really stressed out, I would go to a spa and have a body massage. I also watch romantic movies *with happy endings to make me feel good. A walk around the neighborhood is also a good stress reliever for me. But the best is the peace and quiet of my bedroom where I could relax and medidate.

My quick solution is a warm bath and a long sleep after when i wake up, i always feel recharged. Recently i've added sweating off in the gym, taking a shower and sleeping - it really helps a lot, i feel totally refreshed after doing this.
I also do mountain climbing - never fails to completely take away work-related stress.

I too do all these things, watching tv, going on a vacation ,taking a long walk,a short nap,etc but the best thing to rejuvenate myself i feel is good music ,this is one thing which recharges me immediately and i just love to work when i have the freedom to work along with some music. i have this uncanny habit of studying with some light music in the back ground, so music is all i need to rejuvenate and recharge myslef

rack up your spare change and go get a coffee made just the way you like. Then pick a nice peaceful spot and sip it. By the time you finish you'll be ready to go again!

over-worked - my solution for this are simple, these are have a goooooood sleep or have an energy drink it sleeping is not an option.
watching TV is my daily habit or resting and entertainment. chit-chat with friends is fine, though it get tiring when you talk much and much and much hehe
in short, sleeping and good food is the best remedy for drained energy ka-chow!
