yeah, hate is a strong word and love can't be just said without any feelings with it. but i believe that love can overcome hate and the other way around. they're equal and at the same time opposite emotions...

I think they are inverse emotions, but with the same strength. It's possible to harbour both for one person (I love you, I hate you, I can't live without you), but It can be a bit confusing and seems difficult. Like a lot of things, you can only really understand with experience, I suppose.

i believe they are both emotions, but often times, i think hatred is more evident than love(at least for some) we tend to hate someone all our lives but when we love someone, we easily forget the feeling when someone comes along.
they can't be equal.

I agree with your first respondant. But to expand a bit, I think that all emotions, love, hate, anger, fear, sadness, etc. can have the same level of intensity. Love and hate, though, are probably the emotions that we remember the most because they tend to last longer in our hearts than the others do.
