I was watching Anthony Bourdain, No Reservations, and he was out in the jungle somewhere eating all these different kinds of meat (some stuff I'm not sure I'd put into my mouth) but they said when vegetarians come out there, it takes not even a day for them to eat the food...
We're animals. Naturally we eat plants and meat. It's genetics. Our body requires both to function. I understand we eat too much meat in this country, but there are a million others who starve and go malnurished. Vegetarianism, plays some role in this.
When you start getting sick, because of a diet you put yourself on, you need to change something. If you were healthy and well before, why do you see the need to change your diet? You can do things smart, but eliminating meat completely, from the diet of an animal who's body requires those nutrients and sustenance from said meat, how can that be good for you?

dear subha12 you have rightly explained the difference between veg or non-veg food. Definitely there are merit & demerit in both food habits. For some one veg is good habit but for others non-veg is good habit. But as far as I am concerned I prefer veg food habits as it helps me to keep fit and healthy as non-vegetarian foods are full of protein, so taking non-veg food on regular basis may lead to serious health problem, but I think there is no problem to take it occasionally.

i think it actually depends on the situation. Take me, for example...i can't live on vegetables or meat substitutes alone since i need a lot of energy for training.
As an athlete, i'm on strict diet even if i'm not vegetarian =)
But i would love to try being a vegetarian one day so i'd be lighter in weight.

I feel the vegetarian diet is better. At one time i was strictly veggan, no meat whatsoever. But i worked with this asian dude which told me about omega 3, which is a cancer fighter. I checked out a book from the library and did some reading. I learned that a strictly veggan diet actually increases the chance of cancer unless you eat tons of green leafy veggies. This book taught me that there are actually different levels of vegetarians. If you eat chicken or seafood you are still considered vegetarian. I included seafood back into my diet. But due to the avian flu in birds i still dont eat bird.

I'll definitely go for a vegetarian diet.I think its a lot more healthier, moreover I think that there is too much fat in non-veg diet and I'm already fat so I dnt want to put on more weight.Although I'm not a pure veg coz I've eaten eggs a couple of times. But now I dnt like eating non veg anymore.

Vegetables are the mother of healthy Food. Its always suggested and advised to have Vegetarian food than Non-vegetarian. Non-vegetarian contains carbohydrates and Fat content.

well yeah i agree....but its more better if you combine the two....vegetable and meat...vegetables are good to our health but still we need a small amount of meat for us to be strong for a very long hours of working...vegetables alone can make me feel weak....thats why i schedule all what i eat in a week....

I am a purely vegeterian person.I do not know Which is good for health. But i think Whatever we eat it should be fresh.Rotten food may be veg or non veg always create health hazards.
If you eat a dish of rotten potato then it creates some abdominal problem. At the same time if you eat fresh chicken dish It will create no problem to you.
If a person is vegeterian then he have to take milk or dairy product to get essential amino acids.
