I've never heard of doing that, but it sounds interesting. I might have to try it. I assume you do this to make ice cubes?

Hi cream97! That is the first time I heard that. I never have tried it. I think I will try that when we go for a visit at my hubby's relatives homes in the province since the water there has a nasty flavor. Thanks for sharing that info. Take Care and God Bless! Have a smile in your heart always!

Hmm, never heard of it before or tried it before but there is indeed a difference in the taste of unboiled, boiled and frozen water(ice). I prefer the taste of boiled water as it taste more pure unlike unboiled water where there is a slight chlorine taste and smell.

I never heard of that or I would've tried in with the nasty water we had in Arizona. Now that I'm in Ohio, the water is wonderful so I don't need to do anything to it.

I have never heard of it affecting the taste, but I have heard all my life that hot water will freeze faster than just cold tap water. Something about killing all the bacteria when you boil it.

Boiling water kills any bacteria that may be in it, thereby destroying odors and tastes. I agree with your aunt. I have never tried it, personally, but I know it's true from reading about "weather emergency plans." Like a tornado or hurricane, you never know if a water main has been affected (broken) and bacteria is getting into it. You boil the water for 15 minutes to kill the bacteria. Freezing it afterwards, however, I've never heard of that. It may be that putting it in the freezer cools it down faster, but why freeze it? That won't kill any bacteria. Boiling it makes sense, though.

I do boil the water and then freeze it. Nothing special, I just want to try in different way.

In India, we usually drink tap water after boiling it. But nowadays water bottles are available. In my family, my grandma still drink water after boiling. its good for throat and it also kills germs in it. (it it has one)
