Does it drive you crazy when you go to the store and you want to buy something you have always liked and it's no longer there???
I hate that!
I was in 2 stores this week and neither one had 'Silk Chocolate Soymilk' anymore. I loved that!
There was a kind of popsicle that my son and I loved and I haven't seen it for over a year. I forget the brand that made it, but it had Scooby Doo on the box.
They were multi colored, like tie dyed and they tasted like all kinds of fruits, like fruit punch.
Oh, they were soooooo good!
I can't even begin to remember the rest of the things that are no longer available that I really miss.
Oh! I had been totally addicted to the Lipton Original flavored Iced tea in the single glass bottles.
They replaced it with the Pure Leaf, which I'm sure is healthier, but I sooooo loved the flavor of the original!
If they ever discontinue Mountain Dew, or change the flavor of it, I think I will shoot myself!

Yes! I was just talking about this last night. I grew up in the south and one of my favorite dishes was black-eyed peas and rice. However, you can't just fix the 2 things and mix them together. You have to do something else that I dont know. Anyways, Glory made a canned version that was Amazing! I bought tons of it each month. But I havent been able to find it for about a year now :( It drives me nuts! Now all they have is canned black-eyed peas....
It happened with the tea I drink as well. It was Sun Gold I think...Sooo gooood! Luckily, the store came out with their own that tastes almost identical :)

Have you tryed the Dollar General if you have that in your area? They have a big selection of Glory at least in my area. Or maybe Glory is making a comeback because I've started seeing it more and more. It sure sounds good. I love talking about discontinued items. My boyfriend told me about Frosted Rice Krispies and I didnt believe him. But now they have it at Walmart. Sad thing is its a little tiny box and like 3 something:(

When you mentioned frosted rice krispies, I just thought of something else I used to eat all the time...
I forget what it's called, but it was frosted rice krispies in clusters. I'm not sure if they still make that or not. I'll have to check when I go to the store next time.

I absolutely totally can relate. I was buying sunkist fruit gems every once in a while a few years ago and one supermarket didn't have it so I checked out another grocery store and they had it so if I wanted them I always knew where to get them, but now there are no grocery stores that sell them. A few months ago I happened to come across them and now they don't sell them because it was discontined and the manager told me it's up to the vendor what they want to sell. This has happened many times. It really is infuriating but I have to remember I really don't need it and try to keep myself at peace and remind myself life is too short and why stress myself out but this is about the only real pet peeve I have. In the past they discontinued a soda that had a fruity aftertaste, I think it was pepsi or coke and I really liked it and Gino's spaghetti sauce, chocolate coconut Bundt cake, German Chocolate frosting even though they sell the package cake mix. I figure at least we still have our basic fundamental food groups for now anyway. But I came across your discussion and I had to let you know that I really know how you feel. Take care.

Thank you so much for your comments. At least your response to my comments made me feel good not like another one I got on another discussion. Oh well. It's the company of Sunkist itself that doesn't give them to their vendors to distribute. It's possible that you may be able to buy them where you are. We can always order them online. I checked out the Sunkist website and found out that they also have chocolate covered orange and chocolate covered raspberry fruit gems. They probably only have them on location. I might order them online to try them. (Of course I know I'll like them) LOL

Oh Thanks Alot... I love Sunkist Fruit Gems too! I didn't even KNOW they discontinued those! Now I have to add that to my list of disappointments. And my mouth is watering for some right now!!!
I feel like I've seen those somewhere recently though...
I could be wrong, but if I find them I'll let you know. Maybe I can mail you some! Lol.

I hate it when that happens. Here where I live you can get an item at one store but not at another. And they are the same company.Another thing that bugs me is that they store of the same company will put items in different places. like honey It will be near the peanut butter in one place and in another store it will be with the syrup. Maybe if you ask the manager they will get the soy milk back. I know it works some times. They want to keep their customers happy.

I know what you mean. I just went through that today. I was looking for "cheese whiz" and I remembered the last time I needed it, it was in a strange place...not where you'd expect it to be. So I looked and looked and finally went to customer service and asked. They said it was in Dairy. It was in the refrigerated section right with the real cheese!

Lol, thanks for stopping me.
No, I wouldn't shoot myself. Actually I get a migraine so bad when I don't have my Dew, I'd probably die anyway if they discontinued it.
Yea, that would be terrible you saved for something and then they didn't have it. I wouldn't know... I can't seem to ever save any money, Lol.

This has happened to me a few times. It sure is frustrating. I always try and find something close to the item being discontinued. Sometimes I am successful. Other times I am so disappointed. One item in particular is a chipolte BBQ sauce. I love it. Its been taken off the market.

My boys loved the Chipolte Sauce they used to have at Wendy's Restaurant for the chicken sandwiches.
My youngest son STILL tells me to ask for it when we're at the drive through there, even though he knows they don't have it anymore.

Eugh! I can totally commiserate. I think they do things like that just to spite and torment customers. When a favorite salad dressing of mine disappeared, I was enraged. Now, five years later, it's back on the shelf! I bet enough people complained that they had to bring it back.

Lol, do you still like it 5 years later?
I still remember something I ate when I was really little. It was like a pop tart, but it was oval shaped and had a sugary coating and they were called 'Danish go-rounds'.
That was probably 35 years ago and I still wish I could have one again!
There was also something like cup-a-soup, but it was macaroni and cheese in a packet that you made with hot water in a cup. It was called 'mug-o-lunch' I think.
Easy Mac is similar now, but it just doesn't have the good flavor I remember the other one having.
Now I'm on a roll...I just remembered something else.
There was a kind of freeze-pop that was like chocolate milk. They were called "Snack in the Mouths"
I miss them too.

Still love it.
I found that you can order a lot of discontinued stuff online, recently. There's a particular brand of baked beans that my grandmother orders yearly. :)

OMGosh...I am so mad! Kellogg just acquired the Morningstar Farms brand and promptly discontinued the veggie steak strips. After going to four different groceris trying to find them, I called the number on the back of another Morningstar product and was told that they were discontinued. Evidently some 'genius' at Kellogg decided they weren't 'performing well enough nationally.' Well, they damn sure performed well enough in my veggie stew, and my 'fake steak' stir-fry, and my mock stroganoff. So, thanks a lot, Kellogg, for just arbitrarily removing about a half dozen recipes from my vegetarian diet. Hope the genius who made this decision trips over a stack of their egg-head 'marketing study' paperwork. Booooo Kellogg!

Creamy Cucumber sounds familiar to me, even though I don't eat salad. I used to work at a Ponderosa Steakhouse and I think they had a dressing by that name on the salad bar.

I absolutely know how you guys feel!
I used to buy this brand of desert cake mixes from Wal-Mart; They had chocolate torte and boston cream pie. Both of which were phenomenal. I havn't been able to find these products at any grocery store for a couple years now and I would order them from the online store but I cannot remember the brand name. If any of you have an idea of what it is please let me know!!!! Email me at tookute4u2004@aol.com and please subject the e-mail something that I will recognize as being from the discussion. Please help me!!! I would appreciate it sooo much!
