Do you know who your neighbour is?

I am in the same position. we have lived here almost five years and I still do not now the names of my neighbors on eitherside of me. I have said hello to the ones on my left several times and received just a sort of grunt. on the right I took a package that was delivered to my apt. by mistake to the right hand neighbor and he' did deign to say thanks. thats all the conversation I have had with them. lol

LOL! why is that? I cannot not know my neighbors,,,they're all my blood relatives LOL ^_^

Then you should have had a 'House Warming Party' when you first moved in. That is a sort of tradition where I come from. And if the new person doesn't know that then we throw a party for the neighbours and invite the newcomers to it. Sometimes it doesn't work and the newbies are not interested in mixing at all - well that's fine too and they are left alone but it is made clear to them that if help is needed at any time then just call us. So make up an excuse for a party (fourth anniversary of moving in; A Saturday 31st. May party; anything!) and invite your neighbours. They may well be as eager as you to make contact but don't get around to it.

I have no idea who lives next door to me...they keep to themselves and I keep to myself!

I have known the neighbors on both sides of me since my grandparents lived in this very same spot when i was 15yrs. old (33yrs.) so i've known them, their kids and now some of their kids kids!

ya i know my neighbour and we talk to each other. i like this way of living but sotimes it has been seen has neighbours like to interfere in others life, i dont like it at all then i would prefer to live as you.
