I've been using sony vegas for 2 years now and I love it although most of the other video editors that I know use adobe premier. I've heard that adobe is so much better than sony but I really wouldn't know since I don't use it. what do you guys think?

I prefer Adobe Premiere. I've been using it for the last 5 years and it's very good cause I can customized a lot of effects. I've seen Sony Vegas. It seems it's just for newbie.

Hi Jerkyong, welcome to myLot. I was able to evaluate sony vegas too before and it is I would say very easy to use, the interface is straight forward and you could easily create a video on first use. It has so many transitions to choose from, you could cut or join video, add static images and it time line support drag and drop. I'm not an adobe premier user but I have tried to use it. The controls are very intimidating and one has to study it very well to begin working on it. Its video in video feature I guest is one advantage over the vegas. I don't know if the new version of vegas has this feature already. But I would say Premier are really for the Pro.

hi.... yes, sony vegas actually has that feature and it has been there for quide some time already. I do think though that sony can actually compete with adobe although it is not as widely used by the pros as opposed to premier.

Vegas is more user friendly than premiere, but Premiere seems to be superior to Vegas. I use vegas, and I can do crazy stuff in it. I don;t need premiere, because I also have after effects, but FINAL CUT PRO is better than vegas and premiere hands down. stupid macs :(
