Do you go to Bible Studies held by the church?

Every Sundays at about 1pm, the teens in our church together with some of the Reformed Baptist Institute of Pastoral Training (RBIPT) are always preaching to us teens a closer look at our Bibles together with our friends. In it, we would read each verse aloud, one by one, and then our speaker would explain things to us. There would also be times that Christian books are the ones being expounded on us since reading is not the real thing for Filipinos. the question is, do you also have bible studies? Do you also have participation like reading verses aloud? Is it regularly held to promote Christian manners?

I have not been to church or bible studies in years. I do remember that we did each read out verses, taking turns. Church and bible study was held regularly to promote christian manors and help explore answers to questions we might have.

I quit going to church because most of them do not inspire me. I don't always agree with the things they teach. I have ran into so many who think because they are christen they are better than everyone else. Most don't make a person feel at home there. If you don't dress right and act like you have money they tend to ignore you. I have ran into many who are hypocrites. I feel God and I are right with each other and a place of worship is any where you choose to feel closer to God. I Think church is wonderful especially if you can find on that feels like home. Other reasons we don't go is gas is to high to go much of any where and I am selfish and like to spend my weekends doing things with my family that have been busy all week.

Why then have you stopped attending? I think it is such a great loss because you have stopped. We should continue to grow in wisdom and stature not only in front of men but also in front of God. I still respect your situation anyway. maybe because you're in a new place or there was a conflict, right? That happens so I understand. :) We are also like what you were! We do reading of verses, taking turns whenever we read a passage, like one verse per person. :) it helps me to comprehend the story and I think it's a great way also to practice speaking and of course confidence and reading the Bible. :D

Oh, I think it's understandable. :) What do Muslims do anyway when it comes to studying the Quran? Is it always personally done? I actually have no idea on what Muslims do.. I wish you could share your beliefs also. :)

When I'm still single I was a member of our church Young Adult fellowship. Here we held activities such as bible studies to increase our knowledge about God and strengthen our faith. There's also one point in my single life where I was given the opportunity to head a bible study in one house or area. I was so blessed to impart something about my God to those people, encouraging them by sharing the word of God. But married life have changed everything, and took away most of my time. I really missed those times where I work to spread the word of the Lord.

Wow that's really nice! I wonder how it would be to experience leading a bible study but I think only the men are doing it. Yes, the purpose of this is to really have knowledge of God - and for those who still don't know HIM is to really know and acknowledge Him and His works. :) I think, you shouldn't let your civil status get on your way to serving God because in our church, the married men are all serving God by also teaching to Bible Studies and helping in evangelizing and all. :) Other times, they are sent to other churches whenever the other church's pastor is not available (e.g. when he is sick or out of town)

Yes I do attend Bible study every Tuesday night, but we dont read verse out loud unless someone is trying to get a point across to the presentor. Bible bibe is good, it helps you to learn more.

Yes, I think it really helps people too! That's why I attend the ones that are being conducted like every Monday (which is only during school days somewhere in a nearby town) and on most Sundays every afternoon in the church. It is intended while the adults are taking a rest before the afternoon service is held and after lunch. :D The youth is always the subject for the bible studies because they (we) are the generation next to the present believers (and members) in our church. :)

Only reading is not so effective, but it is better when teens watch movies related to bible. Try this. By watching movies we can correctly understand the content of bible.

Yes, I think that helps too but only when portrayal is the right way. I remember when I was a child and it was still the VHS which was in, I was watching different videos about the different stories found in the Bible. :) Even the ones in Revelations are also portrayed in such. There are even commentaries about issues and all found in the Bible. ;)
