What is it about this animal that sets your heart a flutter and makes you enjoy having one?For me it is their independence. That and they don't need that much attention. I love it. I don't have to have them begging for treats or table scraps, at least my cat, or wanting to go outside every 10 seconds. It's nice.
Of coarse they have their ups and downs but heck i'll go with them wanting the attention they need at the wrong time:P.
So how about you?

For me its everything about them. Their cute little faces. Their different personalties (I have two), their gracefulness, and the fact that mine love me without reservation. My cats are very attention needy primarily because I am home a lot and they are used to the attention.
I love them even when they are annoying like when they wake me up at 3 am with their antics. I think cats are the best organism that was created to me they are just perfect--even when they do something bad.

hehe yes cats are so beautiful when they move :) and an animal isn't an animal without flaws so no matter what expect them :)
i enjoyed one of my kitten's antics at night although my ex wanted to throw her down the stairs, she was a really good cat but she found these little bell balls and played with them all night hehe, i didn't mind because i slept through them :D

cats really are beautiful, I'm more partial on Tigers though in the most beautiful department, but since they are a type of cat I'm sure it is included :D

I love cats, we have just got our new rescue cat yesterday and he is still settling in at the moment, I love there big beautifull eyes and the way they will curl up on your knee in the evenings and cuddle up to you.
I think they are amazing to watch and like yourself there independance makes them a much easier pet to care for than dogs for example, they are pretty self sufficient in that way.

I agree with you entirely on this :). of coarse I proved the independence thought above, but the eyes just staring into them. A nice staring contest hehe, just mind boggling, and letting them lay in your lap is tear jerking :)

well they can't cure themselves entirely though, my cat had mites and worms and well it wasn't fun or easy to get rid of either.
but yes they don't get sick too often!!

hehe purring is the best part of a cat really, it is soooo relaxing, and you know they are happy, i pet a dog and they are only facial or leg expression cats are those and sound. which i love.
and the curling part is awesome too especially when they are kittens! My old cat Diablo, the first day I got him he took the habit of curling up right underneath my chin and he was so tiny he fit perfectly!!

I love cats because they seem almost human. Simple as that. I swear my cat was human at some point. He has the most expressive face, and it's almost like you can feel his emotions when you look at him.

cats... and dogs for that matter have the brain capacity of a 2 year old child except they can't talk. lol, but they can learn as much as a 2 year old child can though! plus some in some cases.

Hi Shawchert, I do love cat just because I love them. I have no reason on it. If you are talking about their independence, well, I'm hardly to say no. It is because I do have to take care them very much especially when they used to be bullied by the outsiders cat. I really don't understand why my cats being bullied so much and being hated by the other cats.So I used to guard them whenever they went out

May be i was a cat i my last life, LOL al my attitude is just like a cat. When i saw one, big (like a tiger) or small kitty felt like ..cuddle .. want to play.Hahaha My chinese astrology is also a tiger. I have the anger of a cat, that is why i understand them. Funny eh?
Do you see the paw when cat sleeping? so cuuutee! specially the pink one. I used to put that paw for a second under my eyes the warm of it erased my wrinkle and tired eyes. believe or not!

What I love with my cats is they are very obedient and they never give me headaches. They always gives me a good day and they never fail to make me smile whenever i get a chance to play with them. Seeing them Happy and healthy means a lot already. I love everything about them. They are the most adorable animals I've ever known.

I like them because they are so funny. My cats have made me laugh more than any other pets I've had. Whether it's hissing at themselves in a mirror or chasing invisible bugs, there's always something to entertain me. I also like the soft hair and how they purr when pet.

I'm an animal lover myself... and they always seem to know they've found a sucker in me LOL.
I love cats because they're cute, soft and fluffy. I used to have a cat called Souffle, he was a persian X tabby and was incredibly affectionate. Whenever I sat down he would instantly be in my lap, laid with his belly against my chest, his paws either side of my neck and he would 'schmoozle' his head against my chin. LOL. Because he was so fuzzy that tended to make me sneeze. He was just adorable.
In general though I prefer dogs because cats are generally not that affectionate. They tend to be really independant and if you call them to you they will just ignore you unless they 'feel' like coming. You know the look they give... 'You don't think I'm coming to you, do you?' LOL.
They say dogs are our pets. We can always call them and they'll come to us for a pat and a bit of affection. But with cats... Well, I'm sure they view us as THEIR pets.

I love cats because it's so comforting and welcoming when they get up in your lap, stretch themselves out over your chest and purrrrr. Makes me want to squeeze them they're so cute.
The one I have now is very possessive, demanding, and determined to prove to anyone else (besides me) who comes in the house that she's boss! But she's also very attentive and loving when it's just the two of us.

Yes I agree about the comfort when they jump on your lap. Especially when they start to purr, it's so calming!

The fuzzy little face, however at this momment I'm more or less thinking of putting her in a box and shipping her west. When we first took in the little cat she wanted to be independent, but since she has had kittens all she wants to do is sit upon or up under me. I think my dogs are showing more independence. When we took her in it was definitely the face, that and she showed no fear.

yes having kittens can change a cat. It's not easy but possibly spaying her may make her more independent... or more dependant lol. but i wish you the best of luck
Faces on cats are rather wonderful to stare at :D

Prior to adopting Lucky, we all hated cats. I was attacked by a pregnant alley cat and was almost paralyzed once. Hubby also had bad experiences but when we saw her, we knew she was meant to be with us. She's so loving and social that i'm actually considering getting her a little brother. Let's see what the future holds!

I am so glad to hear that you decided to get a cat even after the attack, there are some that aren't the best but that comes with every type of animal :).

I love cats because they are so independent. I don't mean that they don't love you back they do. They just have a different way of showing it than dog's do. I love the fact that they can take care of themselves if they have to.
