Fuel; gas station out.

I just went to get fuel and both regular and premium were out. The only thing to purchase was Super premium and as I began to pump the line started choking, I think they were about to run out of that too. Just had to share the fact that I think delivery of products are going to start slowing due to the cost of it and we will be waiting instead of having it when we need it. Anyone else see this as the next problem to the oil crisis.

I don't understand what is going on with the fuel situation in this world! Here in the UK we are paying about £1.50 p/litre - today I filled up from just under half a tank and it cost me £50. Not that long ago that amount would have filled my whole tank! The truck drivers here in the UK have apparently given the government 7 days to come up with a solution (not sure what they are threatening though) ... but something has to be done! People are going out of business as a result of the fuel price these days. Is it because 'they' have suddenly decided that there isn't enough fuel to go around? Is it because of the situation in Iraq - don't they have a ton of oil there and are working towards freeing up? Or is it just politics? Any profound comments out there to set me straight? Thanks for responding, and soo sorry to hear about all the problems in the UK. I heard about the Truck Drivers' striking over there and hopefully it will get the attention of those that can do something about it. Here, in the U.S. we are coming close to the same problems, the continuous cost is driving many small companies out of business and making it very hard on the working force. I keep hoping those that can do something do, but I am more afraid that we can no longer supply our demand and something will have to give: meaning the people will be forced to conserve and cut-back. I have been already doing so since I do not like the paying the price. Here it is $3.85 a gallon, but not as high as it is for other places in the U.S. Thanks, again Karen

I haven't had that problem yet. But, I believe it will be happening soon. I don't understand why they can't get it straightened out so we can have enough gas and get it priced so we can afford it.

Thanks for responding, and yes I can see it only getting worse. I am sure that the cost for delivery is becoming a problem. Thanks, again Karen

I have been seeing some stations with bags on their tanks, but not for long. I do not think this will be a problem soon, merely an inconvience as we have to drive to another station in hopes of them having gas. Mainly it is at the smaller fmaily runned stations I have seen this. The main problm with our oil crisis is the fact that we are importing oil when we have oil. I heard last week that gas in Saudi Arabia was .45 cents/gallon. How crazy is that?

Thanks for responding, I have seen the bags on the tanks as well, however I do live in a rural area and think that the higher cost for delivery is going to be the main culprit. I read an article about one person willing to vacation and his only concern was not the cost, but pulling up to the pumps and finding out there was no gas to be had. I think we will be seeing more and more of this. You are right, it's crazy to see the difference in pricing that Country pays over what we pay; the scary thought is about it is our dependency for it; we have no choice but to pay what they want to force upon us; unless we use our own, which will only slow down the inevitable need to purchase from them. Thanks, again Karen
