Why people are willing to spend so much for a pair of flip-flops?

Flip flops like Havaianas, Crocs, Ipanema are pretty expensive but it's selling like hot cakes. Why do you think people are willing to spend more than enough just for a fancy pair of flip-flops that you can't use everywhere especially when you have a big meeting to attend to and when they are cheaper but equally good brand of flip flops on the market? I'm just wondering why, because I'm few of those people who says "that much money for a pair of slippers?"

I think it depends on people. Personnaly, I won't spend a huge amount of monney on flipflops. I have 3 pairs of those and that's it. I prefer spending more monney on real shoes made of leather or bags. I like stuff that that will last longer so I am willing to pay those. So other people might prefer buying cheapper bags at 30$ instead of 100$. It really depends on the person. If he/she uses that product alot, more monney will be spent on it. The reason why I don't am not willing to buy many of those flipflops is because I can't wear them in alot of places. I would wear them to the beach, or if i have to go out for a short period of time.Anyway, the brands you mentioned, i never heard of it here in Canada. o.o

I have one pair and that's it. Maybe it's just how things go, yeah? we have our own addictions :D
Crocs are pretty famous all over the world, I think. It's used by chefs and medical staff because it has a strong hold and it rarely slips. Havs on the other hand are pretty big as well, it's from Brazil. :)

Aaah! Fashion! Take a bit of plastic and mould it one way and it sits on the shelf gathering dust. Mould it another way and it becomes an icon!
My last pair of flip-flops I bought in Fiji and a percentage of the sale price went to support their sevens rugby team. I'm very happy supporting their team and anything else in Fiji - lovely people; lovely place.
But they are bright pink!!

I ordered a pair of Croc flip flops and got them today. I have a couple of the "cheapy" type but wanted to try these out because they looked so comfortable.
I tried them on tonight and they really feel good. I guess I would say I spent the extra money because of the way they feel when you wear them compared to other flip flops. I really didn't buy them for the brand name (although I did order them when I ordered Croc Caymen sandles also and I bought them for the look and feel too) I bought them for how they would feel wearing them.
Char :-)
