I'm sorry it's taking me forever and a day to get back with you! I've got so darn much on my plate that I've worn myself out. Yesterday I went to bed at 8pm and didn’t' get up till 10am this morning and I'm still tired. With hospital meetings and taking care of dad's needs and his house, dealing with a bear of a husband, (his mom passed away) and taking care of my household and finding time for mom as been daunting to say the least. I've let several things go that I need to do for myself and now that dad had his surgery to remove the cancer from his face and him getting sick for about a week or more, he's doing better now and I finally got my 9 month old puppies spayed - had to or I'd have a number of 'boys' in my yard!! No need for that!! Now that that is all done and past me, I'm finally going to do some things that desperately need doing which is getting my medication changed that my insurance no longer covers, get a referral to see an audiologist to get my hearing aids on the roll and see a dentist to get my teeth fixed. I've had to cancel appointments time and time again to only give up but now that things seem to be going in the right direction, I'm going to reschedule these appointments and KEEP them. Hey, it's my turn now!! lol
Today, I'm going to dad's to clean his house and then go see mom later on.
As of yesterday, mom is doing great!! However, she's very very depressed. She wants something to eat so bad and says she's sooooo hungry AND she wants more therapy so she can get home quicker. Once a day just isn't enough so we let the nurse know how she feels and we've been doing some work with her ourselves by helping her to sit up on the edge of the bed. She gets so dizzy but in time she'll be stronger and not be so dizzy then we'll get her on her feet. According to the therapist a few days ago, she can stand for only 10 seconds then she sits because she's so weak. However, doing this for her once a day just isn't enough so we're doing the sitting on the side of the bed thing for now then we'll go from there. She still has the darned trech which has aggravated us because we're constantly told, maybe tomorrow we'll be able to take it out, maybe tomorrow, maybe tomorrow.... well, enough tomorrows!! Get it out!! I know they're doing what's best but dang, enough of getting our hopes up and get her more therapy!!
Another thing too, she had a snot box of a respiratory therapist Wed night (she told us yesterday about it) and basically blamed her for her trech being out. Well I believe it was Thurs, dad and I were with her and as I sat on her bed, I saw her trech was out and had to call the nurse to put it back in. I explained what had happened and we know she didn't pull it out so she's NOT to blame and so they made a note of it and put my name down as witness. Soooo all this time that she's been blamed for her trech and given a sedative to calm her so she wouldn't pull her trech out might have been wrong!! We don't know because we weren't there but still it does make us wonder!
I've lost 4 1/2 pounds because of this ordeal. It's a good thing but a hell of a way to do it.
To all of you that made donations to help us with the medical bills and the cost of gas and what ever else, a BIG heart felt THANK YOU!!!!!! And to those who want to but can't... Hey! It's the thought that counts!!!! A big heart felt THANK YOU!!!!!!
Well that's the update at the moment. No doubt I've forgotten a thing or two but when I remember them, I'll get back to you with it!!
Thank You so much for all the prayers!! God is Good!!

I don't know how you do it! It all sounds such an awesome task and I sincerely take my hat off to you. I'm pleased things are going well and falling into place and I can understand how frustrating they are at the same time. Hang in there, all will be well.

Well to be truthful with you.... I'm about to lose it because it's just too much but I'm trying hard to stay on track but dang! it's so hard keeping up with everything and doing everything and bla bla bla!! I'm sooooo tired that I've basically zoned out and have been this way for a few days now. I'll get through it some how some way but it's sure kicking my a$$ right now.

Glad to hear the good, sorry about the bad. I wonder if the sedation is contributing to your mom being dizzy? Did you say somewhere why she is not getting food? You are darn right it is time to do the stuff to take care of you or you will not be able to take care of everyone else.

Thanks GardenGerty. And yes the sedation does have some contributing factor to her dizziness but I think it's more of her being in bed for so long and lost a lot of strength. Hubby and I've been working on her every time we see her in hopes to help her regain her strength once again which will help her all the more to get stronger and get out of there sooner. I didn't get to see her today because I went to my dad's to clean his house from top to bottom and took more time than I expected it to but tomorrow I'm going to see her and we'll do more to help her but Monday I have too much to do at home and if I finish in time, I'll go see her but I've got to go to dad's again to check on the mail and fold some clothes I left behind in the dryer. Always something to keep me busy and hoping like a bunny rabbit. Always something going on. lol

Oh my, you are a very busy Bee. I was exhausted just reading all that you have been up to. But, let's thank God that he is giving you the strength to endure all of this. I am very glad to hear that both of your parents are recovering. I am sorry to hear about your mother-in-law.
I also hope that you will have some time to take care of your own needs soon and that it will not take too much time away from being there for your parents. God has been good to you. Don't ever hesitate to stop and praise him.

Oh honey I know there is so much you need to do and I know I keep saying it but you have to look after YOU so badly - you will be no help to anyone if you run yourself down so much that you can't be there for them anymore! That means making use you get enough sleep and a good diet! Ok nagging over for now - I am glad that your dad is feeling better now and it is great that your Mom is feeling better! It is only natural that she is very depressed with what she has been through and I know that the minimal therapy is very frustrating but sometimes to overdo it in this situation would make her situation worse rather than better. I wish there was more I could do but you have my love and Prayers and I guess that is better than nothing! Hugs and Love - now get some rest! xxxx

I am so glad to hear things are getting better for you. Yes, it is slow but at least it is in the right direction. I pray that your mom and dad progressively get better. I pray that your hubby will be understanding with you and that he leans on you in his own time of grief. It is important for him to share that with you. It will bond you as a couple.
Yes, do make time for yourself. Do attend to your health. You go, girl!!
Mary Beth................you rock!!!!
I am so proud of you. I am glad that you take time to email me and keep me in your loop.
((hugs))
