Hi! Bargaining is an art.Even if everybody bargains, only a few succeed! Many don't even attempt to bargain, even made an attempt, meet with failure only. This is the world where people have to bargain for anything and everything! When buying a thing or commodity, i don't bargain much and don't succeed much also! How about you? How skilful you are at bargaining for things? Could be share your experience?

huh? - he can't seem to find the answer to his question. i guess he needs to visit this discussion.
it depends on where you bargain. i believe you can't do this when shopping in a mall or a department store. you can't bargain on their products. but if you're in a market, you can always bargain. i can't say that i'm good in bargaining but i know how to bargain. this is one of the skills that my mom had taught me. ;)

Department Store bargaining is difficult but not impossible. I know one person who succeeded in buying a display only model washing machine and saved $500 from the original price. Sometimes they have these special deals where they'll sell floor models for peanuts because they're making shelf space for a new model or upgrade. The important thing is to comparison shop online first before getting out of the house.

I make it a habit to test my bargaining skills in two places- one is Chinatown and the other is at local yard sales. Prior to shopping for my desired items in Chinatown, I comparison shop online and find a target range of what i'm willing to pay. When I get there, I take notice of what stores are nearby offering the same item and immediately low-ball the asking price. I find this works best when they're very busy with tourists. My best deal was the red outfit my 5 year old is wearing in the picture I've enclosed. It usually sells from $20 onward. I got it for $7.00 with shoes and all! The yard sale tactic varies. I've found the majority of items I get interested have some personal value that people just can't shake. I walked away with a Nolan Ryan gold lined plate that was purchased at $49.99 for a bargain price of $1.00-- as I got into my car their son was very upset and offered me five bucks for the plate. I told him i'm a plate collector and I couldnt bear to let it go. Another good buy was four unopened GI Joe action figures that were purchased at $3.19 each from toys r us. I bought them for $0.50 each! I sold all four on Ebay recently and received a total of $27.00 (after fees and shipping). My return on investment there was $25.00.. i love bargain hunting :)

bargain - woman bargaining
I am good at any bargaining. After all we do it to save money and find the best deal possible. You can save a lot with proper bargaining. I always ask people if they allow bargaining and how much they think item is worth for them to buy if they wouldn't sell it...

Bargaining seems difficult for me. Most time I don't bargain. But I've got a friend who is a bargaining talent. When she buy something, the sellers always the first one to give up in bargaining. So I like to go shopping with her which means I can get something nice but cheap.

About 2 years ago I went on holiday with my school to Barcelona, the one thing I wanted to buy was a Barcelona football shirt. By the end of the trip I only had 50 euros left and shirts were 80 euros. So I began bargaining and to cut the long story short I was able to bargain 4 men down to 50 euros :D

I don't bargain at all, I wish i was more skilfull at it though then I might save myself alot of money. Hoever in saying that alot of people don't bargain here in Australia. Unless it is at the markets, where people have their little stores, that is usually the main place people bargain here or maybe buying a car. So even if I went to countries like Bali or India where there is lots of baragaining I would be paying full price as I don't like to bargain. I feel rude doing it and I also don't like rejection, lol.

I can't really bargain. I'd offer a lower price, and the person I was bargaining with would offer a price a bit higher and I would take it. Although there are many ways to bargain, bargaining with yourself for instance Ex: "Should I get this loaf of bread for 99cents or this one for $1.99.... I was always taught to try to get the cheaper one or to make sure you will eat it. For instance : My Grandfather used to ask me the price of something so I got into the habit of telling him the price and then saying "i'll eat it" or I'll use it" before he even asked!

I'm not good at bargaining. Actually, I am afraid of bargaining, because you have to persuade the owner to lower its price, which I feel it's hard and embarrass. But sometimes, you really have to bargain, it's not whether you like it or not, because the owner may make the price of the product very high, so you have to fight for the price. I wish I have a good bargaining skill.
