Mylot burnout, have you experienced it?

I have embraced Mylot wholeheartedly since I started posting in earnest in April of this year and I would get a little peeved if my internet service gets interrupted because it would interfere with my mylotting. Lately, I have begun to feel a little sluggish in my discussions and I no longer have the same drive as I had before. Has anyone felt something akin to this? Did you recover?

Yes I've had this a few times. Came back from what could be called another burnout session, but in reality I just wanted to take a few days or a week off. Real life and other issues however had different plans. I guess I'm nice and refreshed for mylotting again.

That's great news. Someone missed you around here last week and was wondering where you'd been. One of your enduring friends, I presume.

I have had one of those days when I just felt I couldn't post anymore. It's like I have exhausted all ideas and my brain got dried. Even the simplest what is your name question I find it difficult to answer.
Well, what I do is stay away from the computer or from mylot for a day or two and read books, magazines and newspapers. In the course, I get new ideas and my mind get active again.

Staying away and doing something else would probably get the soot out of that burnout. I notice that this works for me too.

i did experience that. and well, i guess such a phase is natural with just anything that you commit yourself with. blogging, poetry, reading, even relationships!

There might be something to what you say about it being 'natural' and I suspect that maybe biorhythm might be involved too.

Hi there Underdog too!
yes, I do get that sometimes. When that happens, what I do is take a break from mylot and spend time doing or goind somewhere else.

Yes, doing something else and going somewhere else do work and maybe slowing down a bit without completely stopping might be a good idea too so as not to kill whatever momentum you might also have going for you. I guess pacing yourself would prevent some kind of burnout from starting. Cheers!!

I took a few days where I posted fewer than usual. I did not think to really take a leave because it might have some impact on the momentum I was getting. The little break in the number of posts seemed to clear up the burnout a bit as though going at a slower pace was 'just what the doctor ordered'. Lol!

I have only been here for a day, but I can see how people could get burnt out. I have spent a lot of time on this website today, but I think the main way to prevent being sick of the website is to do it in your free time only... I have gone out of my way to post today. Do any of you go out of your way to post?

I have found that scheduling the times to post works wonders for me. For instance, I do a lot of posting when I wake up in the morning and my mind is not so preoccupied with things. I also do a lot of posting at night before I sleep and tie up some things that may need to be discussed. The problem might be when I need to get started on a new project and I cannot get myself to do it then the temptation to put it off and do mylot is very great which is not so good for the new project. Cheers!!

Hey, it's good to know you're back from your burnout. I wish I could take a year off too but the way things are going I think it might take a shorter time for me to recover. Thanks.

That might be a perfect solution to a burnout, take a bit of absence and clear out whatever ashes and smoke there may be.
