My eldest son who will be turning 9 loves to watch wrestling matches on the television. He says that, when he grows up, he would like to have a huge body like that, so he can wrestle bad guys away. But all I see is endless fights, bouncing bodies on the floor (which my son said is soft), hitting here and there and some occasional bloody wounds. Again, My son said those are just some kinda actors and was just acting as if they were hurt. Is this true at all? Do your kids watch wrestling? Do you approve of this?

i don't think it is good at all... it teaches violence... i don't think that i will let my kids watch it if they are still too young... but when they get older and they already understand things, then i will let them watch it... of course i will explain to them that it is only for entertainment and i would prefer them not to watch it if there are other more beneficial programs on the TV... take care and have a nice day...

I would be worried at the first glance. But When I heard what your son is saying, It certainly calms me down. Knowing he knows that the floor is soft, and the those are just actors, and maybe he is aware too that the whole thing is just scripted. I would not worry at all. He understands what's he's been watching, and probably just entertained. Having a big body and to be able to wrestle bad guys away, sounds good to me. I can see nothing wrong about that. At least he's in the good side because it's the bad guys that he would want to wrestle. So..relax mommy! Son is here to protect you from the bad guys.

yes, because they could adopt it and do it with other kids.. though you have to tell them not to do that, but if you are not around are you that sure your kids won't do it? I have a son and because of watching wrestling with his uncles he is bully with some of other kids.. when i'm not around :)

I think it's ok as long as there's a grown up there- you know, parental guidance. That way you can enforce the positive values that the show may portray and warn them about the negative ones. :)

My husband like wrestling. But for me i dont have anything about it.I think that is not suitable for a kid.Even what they do is a bit to fake i think it is still violent to see.Atlest that's my idea.

I personally feel its very wrong.. because it brings an idea of human fight for no reason in the minds of kids.. I think wresting should be kept away from children

My kids LOVED wrestling...especially my daughter...she (up until recently) would tape EVERY show and spend Sat morning watchign them all LOL...Its harmless PROVIDED you are sure to let your boy know that these guys (and gals) are professionals with extensive training and you will NOT tolerate him mimicing the moves they do etc etc....As long as you have that squared away with him I see nothing wrong with it at all..

i'll let them watch wrestling instead of letting them watch ufc. wrestling is a staged fight. those men are actors & stunt men trained to perform those stunts & at the same time, make it look like everything hurts. don't worry. everything is just an act. good thing you're son knows about it 7 has knowledge that those stunts are performed by trained professionals. i believe wrestling isn't that bad compared to ufc. what matters is proper guidance. ;)

I don't see any problem with them watching it as long as they know it isn't real and trying those moves they do could hurt them. Me and my friends watched it all through my childhood. We also did do some of the moves that they did which probably wasn't the smartest thing in the world. But i don't see any real harm in letting them watch it just as long as they know its not real and that trying to do it could really hurt them.
