Well, probably because you really rock!
Since I was a kid, my mom used to ask me to practice a couple of songs. She drags me to events and ask me to sing all the time. I have to be the star of the night. Well, my neighbors were fine with that since they knew me since I was a kid.
I wish I can sing again. I stopped singing for almost ten years now. I think I lost the melody...

Sometimes I care and I get kind of self-concsious, and other times I just sing and don't think about whether anyone can hear me or not. I think that I'm probably fooling myself if I think they can't hear me, they're just too polite to say how much I suck!

I don't know... a lot of people aren't very polite. If someone is tolerable with their singing, I'd never say anything though.
I often sit around playing my harmonica at the park or public places like that mostly if I think people can't really hear. But I guess sometimes they probably can too.

LOL! I guess I probably wouldn't care, because I sing on YouTube so why not let the neighbors hear too? But I don't really sing much generally. I like playing instruments instead.
A lot of our neighbors just don't care when they play their instruments that the windows are open. Which is rather funny because of the instruments they play... harp, flute, violin, piano, etc. Not your typical electric guitar and drums neighbors.
I generally don't open my windows ever. But occasionally I have been known to play the harmonica on the balcony on a nice day.

You know... my mother (a music teacher and concert pianist) once told me that God said make a joyful noise. Never said it has to be pretty. Just noise... joyful noise.
So sing it to the rooftops baby! I think it's awesome. Good, bad... doesn't matter. Just belt it and love it!

I love to sing and have been told at times that I have a pretty voice. I turn my music up real loud so the neighbors don't hear me.

Only when i've had a drink and it's me and a few friends on singstar. We certainly Rock but not really at singing. But it's a bit of a laugh. I've not had any complaints so far but I know she has at her house!

I obviously don't have the confidence that you do. I don't even like singing when I'm by myself. It's a noise that I wouldn't care to share with anybody because of fear of failure. But that's cool if you think that you rock. I guess you like to give them a bit of a show, lol. So, rock on, I guess.

In our neighborhood, nobody cares how good or bad you sing, that's because almost everybody here loves music and loves to sing. But singing in the middle of the night and in a very high volume never been tolerated here. We have even a city law that prohibits sing, the videoke after 10 in the evening...
