Hi all, My exams are coming up in 2 weeks. Do you guys have any studying tips you can share? For you, what is the most effective way of studying? What are your study habits? I don't really have any good studying habits since I easily get tempted into playing or like now bashing the keyboard in myLot LOLZ.

Obviously the best course of action is to not procrastinate in the first place. I'm not saying you've done this, for all I know you're ready for the test already - you just want help studying to brush up on the knowledge to ensure you get that "A"... So, long story short - if you study a little bit here and there throughout the semester it'll be much easier, come exam time, to "fine-tune" the last minute study-preparations. My study time tends to be more of the "cram-session" that opposes the above-mentioned advice. However, it gets the job done for me. I will admit, the advice I offer above is definitely the cookie-cutter, golden-child type of advice. I tell myself at the beginning of each semester that I will use those study methods, but at the end when the long awaited exams have arrived, I realize that I got caught up with life and resort again to cramming. If this happens (or IS happening) to you, try to find the quite, comfortable but not relaxing, environment where you can concentrate on the job at hand - then just knock it out! Hope this helps!

Me too! I'm a crammer. I know it's really a bad way of learning because I'll end up forgetting most of the stuff I just studied. :( and just like you I tell myself to "brush up" not only in the start of the semester but all throughout the semester. lol As I said in the above reply I go to school purposely just to study even if there are no classes. I bought a that isn't game worthy just to help me avoid getting tempted into playing games. LOL Thanks a lot for the advise. Hopefully next semester I'll find the will to actually keep reviewing notes all throughout the semester. :)

Lol. Exactly! Just a few minutes each day should keep the information fresh in your head! Good luck again! I liked the game story!

do colorful tree maps to organize your notes. make your notes color-coded for visuals. best to sleep early and wake up early. not really good to study too late. drink lots of caffeine. who sleeps anyway during finals? i never did. take breaks and relax.

I must say it is a very interesting advise! It's easier to remember stuff that way. I know I'm too lazy to even color code my notes. :( What I do is just put up big signs and arrows on the important stuff that must be studied. I'll give it a go next semester and see the results. I'm kinda a night person. I don't know but my mind is more active at night. My ex-girlfriend used to do it your way... wake up early... but I didn't seem to work for me. All I thought when I woke up early was going back to sleep or "taking a short break". LOLZ hehehe yup I drink lots a caffeine during finals. I drink it like water. lolz and no one sleeps during finals it's just resting your eyes for a couple of hours. :) hehehe Thanks for the advise

As was said before, you shouldnt cram at all. You should study over the 2 weeks. Not too much, but a reasonable amount of time per subject. One thing that could help is to retype your notes out. It can be a good excercise and a refresher for your mind. If you want an increased effect, repeat this a couple of days before the exam and study normally as well. One thing to do if you get distracted is to turn off the internet (either unplug or disable wireless depending on what you have). Another thing to do is to delete your desktop shortcuts that lead to games.

I don't have good studying habits too. LOL. Umm, find an area where you can concentrate, for me, I always concentrate and understand my notes and books better when I'm in school (coz at home, I get tempted to use the internet/eat/sleep). Just review you notes everyday, even just skim through them. Take note of what your professors say, no matter how unimportant it might sound. You'll get surprised it shows up in quizzes or exams sometimes.

i'm a crammer and i really don't have a study habit. it really depends on my mood. sometimes it's effective if i study in front of the tv or while i listen to the radio because with that i am able to enhance my concentration. so during the exams day if ever there is an uncontrollable and irritating noise, i would still be able to recall what i studied and not be distracted. there are times that i prefer to study in a quiet place especially with topics that need thorough analysis, i am able to think clearly and continuously if i don't hear any noise. it really depends on my mood during that time. most of the time, i would study my lessons the night before the exam and stay up late. this really works for me well, i guess i am really a night person and a night learner! good luck with your exams!
