I thought my husband was the only one who did that. It drives me crazy. If its something John Wayne is in particularly. Its not like the ending is going to change if he keeps watching it,lol. I'm probably one of the few people in this world who isn't a John Wayne fan too. I guess we should have discussed that before we got married.

Tell hubby that he needs to hook up the tv for you and that precious baby you are carrying, you do not need the stress of all those war things. hahaha
Sometimes if the things get the best of me on his tv shows I just put the headset in on my laptop and listen to music.

Well, I do not blame him for watching all that history stuff. To me, when I do watch History Channel, especially World War II Pacific, all that bring back lots of memories. Well, you can leave the tv room and go do something else.

From experience I found that if I constantly asked question because I seemed to be so interested (yeah right!) that my ex ended up not watching it as I was driving him crazy with all my questions.

Yes, I know what your talking about. My husband likes to watch all those shows on the history channel also. I myself don't like history very much, I thought it was boring in school...lol. Right now he's been watching the Axmen, now I can watch that, its not that boring, or the Ice Road Truckers, thats interesting, but when it comes to the other stuff on there like the old war stories and bomber planes I get bored too. I mean you can only watch so much of it...lol The other things he watches that bore me is boxing, or the UFC fighting, they put me to sleep..haha. So usually I read, I'll sit there and read a good book, most of the time he'll tell me to find something I want to watch, then when the commercials come on, I can flip back and forth. I'd rather just read tho...lol.

In my case, since I have full control of the house all day, I let others have it when they arrive home (even though I seldom watch the tv).. then when hubby gets home, he has full control when he wants.. I watch some shows with him.. building and car and bike programs.. but after awhile I will read.. The other weekend everyone had camping trips, but I decided to stay home. I stayed off the computer, didn't read, and and watched about five movies that weekend! In between working outside.. That's nice once in awhile. Otherwise, luckily, I'm not much of a tv person, so I don't really care..

Same here it just sucks cause he gets two days in a row off and his shows all day for two days is annoying. But I still love him of course.

I never really liked to watch anything about the military or wars, it just doesn't interest me one bit. But, there are tons of people who go crazy over that stuff. Most of the people I know that like that kind of history are those that are or were in the military and some might have even been to those conflicts or knew people who have been.
But, I like the shows they do on the history of food and inventions. Also, the stories they do on the Roman and Greek Empires are really great! I have also stumbled upon the stories they do on the bible and religion.
But, I don't have cable, so I only get to watch these shows when I'm at work or at the gym.

Hubby gets too involved with cowboy shows. Once in a while it is okay. Sports, I do not want to watch at all. History, a little. If or when I am bored, I will get on myLot, or go do needlework, or read. Unfortunately, what I should do is clean, but I do not.

My husband loves that sort of stuff too. I thought maybe it was just because he use to be in the army but maybe its just a male thing. I do like some of the history channel shows but now the war stuff. I like the archaeology type shows.

I love the History Channel and the Military Channel. I despise all of those "woman's networks" like Lifetime and The Hallmark Channel. Ugh, my mom loves those made for tv dramas. I leave the room. I can't stand them. I'd take Spike TV over Lifetime any day of the week.

I am not a fan of Lifetime either. You can only take so many stories of a girl starving herself.

I am the history buff in our house. My 13y/o and i will watch all that kind of stuff. My husband watches (honestly) wrestling which i hate! I get mad everytime i see it coming on. That has to be the stupidest most ridiculous so-called sport ever invented. I just go watch t.v. or read in the bedroom where i am spared the pure torture of sitting thru it.

Hi minnie_98214! Oh goodness, most of what my hubby likes watching, I simply hate it or find it boring. But he does not force me to watch with him. He has just this annoying habit of calling me all the time and tells me, "Sweetheart, just look at this for a few minutes" kind of thing! haha..I would give in for his frequent few minutes instead of watching it the entire time. haha..
Take Care and Keep Smiling! God Bless!

Oh well my sisters like to watch MTV a lot, all that rap music just stresses me out. To solve that i simple just go to my room read a book or listen to some classical music. That's always a sure cure for my boredom.

my dad usually loves to watch basketball. i like basketball but i don't watch regularly. i only watch them if i'm in the mood. good thing we have two televisions here in our house. but if my mom's watching on the other television, i just open my computer, surf the net or watch movies instead.

Just like you I also do not enjoy the shows my hubby want to watch, like war movies, boxing, basketball and good enough he does not force me to watch. But sometimes there are times when I cannot avoid sitting beside him when watching when we feel like doing some lovey dovey moments but you know I just try to enjoy the show and concentrate more on eating the nuts we have around while watching.
