Back when you were still studying... were you ever a teacher's pet... did you ever give your teachers an apple or some flowers... or did you stay away clear away from them...
If you were not a teacher's pet... how did you feel about those who are?... did you hate them or were you indifferent on how they tried to be close to the teacher...
I had my share of being a teacher's pet... i liked it... but i had to stop being one because it became a reason for students to hate me... and to question why i got higher grades than others...
So i don't really hate those who choose to be a teacher's pet... i admire their guts...

Yes, and no. In graduate school it is different because you sort of have to work one on one and the professor is more like a mentor. But in grade school, I had some teachers who really liked me and others who did not. But most of them had me helping them out in the classroom, especially helping them grade the other children's tests. Because I hardly ever got any answers wrong, they always graded my test first and then used my answer sheet as a key to grade the others. I guess that is sort of being a pet, but I wasn't all goody two-shoes so the other children did not hate me for that. They just came to me for help with their homework and I always did cheerfully help them. There were some others though that were quintessential teacher's pets because they kissed up so maddeningly and acted superior. As hard as they tried, however, they were not the ones who were asked to serve as teacher's aides. As for high school, well, there I was rebellious like almost everyone else and didn't pay much attention to most of the teachers there.

You must be one very smart student back... i always liked students who was more than willing to help... but never to a point of asking them to check papers... that was a no no in most private schools nowadays... i wonder why turned into a rebel when your reached high school... thanks for the response...

The possibility of hurting or taking advantage of someone is a constant worry for me. I take better care of the people around me than I do for myself.
I think it's called co-dependency and that's a self sabotage. It's not good for anyone and I know better.

That is like double jeopardy... the teacher's kids are also the teacher's pet... i have never seen such a situation... my co teachers' children were often too shy to mingle with us... and they were told not to be too close to other teachers when the are in school... thanks for the response...

I have not tried giving anything to my teacher before. I experience to be a teacher's pet because she always ask me to write on the board or check some of the papers but I didn't also make it a way for us to become very close. I also don't hate students who are close to some of our teachers, I just find them very friendly and you are correct, they have the guts!

i was once a teacher's pet but not because i gave presence to them, it is because i show them that i am really serious with my studies. i love the feeling that they like me. but sometimes i don't like to be tease about it. and so i move away from them sometimes if i already feel that their liking me among others from my classmates is becoming obvious.

Some students can be cruel to those whom the teachers favor... and you are not an exemption to that... i had my share of being teased... but i tried not to let it bother me... i just did my best... and if the teachers liked it... then i am quite happy... thanks for the response...

I was such a teacher's pet that I nearly purred. Not because I was kissing up to them, but because I was a hard working, attentive, responsible student. That would actually take names if the teacher told me to watch the class. I was a student the teacher could count on. I think I also brought my teacher's Christmas Cards as well. Heck I still send some of my college professors Christmas cards. As I got older, I related better to the teachers than to my peers so I continued to be the teacher's pet. I am not ashamed of it all and it in no way effected my grades. It just means when I am in my home town and I see one of my teachers from school they still say hi to me.

That is such a good thing... there is nothing wrong with being a teacher's pet... as long as the intentions are good... and there is no personal gain involved... but some students have the tendency to misinterpret others who are close to the teachers... thanks for the response...

Hello aseretdd,
I was a teacher's pet to too many teachers when I was still studying in primary and secondary school. I was lucky not to be the center of jealousy of all my colleagues. My Math teacher loved me so much as I was good at Math. My Biology teacher liked me too cause I always had the answer for all the questions asked. One of the teachers just love me because I was cute little girl with a long ponytail and really know how to talk sweet *laughs* I didn't hate any of my friends if they became a teacher's pet. I had my fair share of those good and bad experiences about being a teacher's pet.

It is good that you only have good memories of being a teacher's pet... i know of some who don't... since a lot of kids can be cruel... that is why i had to stop being one... but i have no regrets about doing that... since i can always visit my teachers when they are no longer teaching me... thanks for the response...

I have to say I have no problem with teacher's pet's. I have been one it seems in every single writing class I have ever taken even in college. I didn't set out to be one, it seemed like the teachers enjoyed my writing ability and so they made me one. I'll take it, I always got the A's without trying that hard. But writing has always been pretty natural to me though I never thought I was as good as everyone else thinks.

Well, if your teachers thought that you are good enough... then i believe them... i was a teacher before... and i can spot any talent when i see one... so it is no wonder you became their pet... i bet you deserve all the A's that you got... thanks for the response...

I dont know if I ever being categorized as techers pet in my school days. I am a good student, always do my homework and score very nice mark. I never got into troubles. But I do not socialize lots of my time with my teachers. If I am a techer's pet, i never felt that my friends hated me or dislike me.
I never hate any teacher's pet except the ones that told the teachers everything his/her friends did wrong. But usually this only happen in elementary school.

I don't think you belong to the category of the teacher's pet... since you don't really socialize with the teachers... most teacher's pets do... and they even volunteer to bring food or drinks... i think you are one of those good students who everybody admires... thanks for the response...

I was a bully in school, so I made fun of those who were teacher's pet. I really don't care but it is funny to watch people kiss up to others. Especially when they think that it will get them a better grade. Obviously it didn't work for them because I graduated at the top of my class. I refused to be a teacher's pet because I didn't want anyone to question my grades. I got those A's on my own with help from no one.

Congratulations on getting those A's... you must be a very smart person... some teacher's pets tend to act that way in the hopes of getting high grades... but there are those (quite a few) who are just really like that... friendly... but i hope you got over your bully personality... since that is almost as worst as being a teacher's pet... thanks for the response...
