During my internship, i found that usually children afraid with needles (shot). Dont talk about needles, just seeing the doctor around with his white gown, and they will feel uneasy. It seemed that they will be eaten by the doctor (or maybe they think that the physicians are monsters) hehehe...lol. Yeah, its happened many times.
Not only children, some adult also fear if they will get shot. I wonder, should they behave like kids? They already over twenty years old, but when they looked at me handled syringe, and their expression will change... wah? Should i give them candy? Hehehe... smile..smile...smile.
I know that get injection usually painful. Its also happened to me. Honestly if i will get injection, i feel a little bit uneasy. But at the time i get injection, i will feel relax. Hahah

if the adults have the same expression as like children when they saw the doctor or injection, it means that they have some bad experience with the doctors when they were childhood
cause my husband also like a child when he saw about needles of injection or doctor due to some bad experience that he ever saw about his brother and injection matter

Yeh it is my case. I am 22 but i am still scared of needles. lol The idea to have something pointy in the body terrefies me. I always imagine myself that the tip of the shot will break off and stay in my skin or some stupidity like that. I know it doesn't hurt that much but i am still scared of it. This is all in the head. We think that it will be painful but it doesn't really hurt. For me, it's simple to see the shot getting into my flesh. It looks like a torture lol I know once I felt very comfortable. While she was giving me the shot, the kept on making a conversation with me. She asked about the food I like, school studies and things like this. So my focus is not 100% on the injection. i would say 75% on the discussion and 25% on the shot. So you might try it out o.o

I hate to get shots and have had to have many but It never gets easier. Some people can do a better job of giving them than others can. I have had nurses give a shot or drw blood that you almost don't feel it. Then some can make it very painful.. So it's no wonder that people have a hard time when it comes to getting injections.

When I got my first shot when I was aware of it, I looked at the spot that they were trying to inject. I didn't cry but, surely, it was indeed painful.
I really don't mind getting injections, as long as I have to but, if I don't or its suppose to be voluntary, I wouldn't initiate to have myself pierced with any syringe at all (^_^")

oh yes definitely am scared of injections! but i guess sometimes it's unavoidable..i guess it depends on the doctors too, like how they do it. sometimes i feel a bit painful when i get an injection, other times i don't feel painful at all hehe!

As a child I was terrified of getting injections. I
was a total embarrassment to my dear mother. They
had to chase me and hold me down...I really made
a scene!
Today I'm still very much afraid..It's not the
pain that bothers me, it's the thought of having
something stuck into me.
I don't feel that I'm acting like a child because
of my fear for needles. Most people have one thing
that they dislike and actually fear.

hi manya not anymore, after being in the hospital and having to have a blood count done every four hours day and night, I became almost use to being stuck. as long as they could find
out why I was bleeding and make it stop I did not mind. I had four blood transfusions and did not mind the sticking as it was helping me to get well. I had a continous IV and I might have been tired of holding my hand still but knowing it was making me feel better ,again I did not really mind.Once you make up your mind you can stand a lot. lol.

Maybe I'm a little twisted, but when I donate blood, I insist on watching the needle go in! I think it is so fascinating, and it doesn't really hurt, so - I kind of enjoy in a weird way.
My mom was a nurse, so it is likely that she didn't perpetuate the idea of being scared of needles, as many mothers/fathers do. "Eww, I'm scared, it hurts wahh waah wahhh" - those people make me sick and when they teach that to their kids it makes me sicker.
I mean honestly, if they want a cookie, they should just get one instead of acting like a child. Any adult should be able to handle an injection. Sure, it hurts some, but it's called LIFE-get over it lol (and this coming from someone who has "bad" blood draws, i.e. intense bruising, excess bleeding etc)

I had a lot of injections lately. And everytime I am there waiting for the nurse I really feel nervous. Thats why I understand why kids really are afraid of doctors or injections. Though I find it not really painful, but the thought of those big needles is a little bit scary. Specially when a blood will be taken from you for some test, some nurses are not good enough with it, it took them about 2 or 3 inserts before they could finally take blood from you, though there are also experts, they could do it in one attempt only.

I don't like shots, and I had to get allergy injections. When I finally had to give myself the first injection, it was because I was stung by ants. ON the hand I needed to use to give myself a shot with! I had to HOLD the hand still to give myself the shot.
Now I can give myself, or anyone else a shot if I need to.

Most kids are fearful of injections and aldults. I actually know aldults who are petified once they know they are going to get injected.
When I was pregnant with my second daugther I needed to take a 7 -day course of medication via injections. I gladly told the physicians I can handle it. I injected myself daily he just could not believe.
I did it it the clinic for many years with the patients so it was easy for me.

If I remember correctly, I think doctors would always tell me that getting a shot was just like getting bitten by an ant, except it hurt a little more. The thought of getting a shot was always scary, which is why I didn't like to go to see the doctor. But my mom always made it okay. Every time my brothers and I were brave enough to take a shot, she'd treat us to something special right after like an ice cream cone. My mom's sweet like that. She also holds out hand and talks to us soothingly and continues to do until today. Haha! It works though.
