Do you prefer a little dog or a big dog?

I like both but I've always had little dogs since I can remember. I think that smaller dogs are easier to take care of and they can stay in the house. Sometimes it is hard to have a big dog inside your house depending on where you live. Plus depending on where you live you don't want to keep them out side. Like if it's to hot or to cold. And little dogs eat less than big dogs do. lol So what about you a big dog or a small one.

My fiance and I have 2 dogs. We have a little dog which is a shih tzu and a big dog which is a lab. They are both big babies though. The lab is more of one. We keep them both as inside dogs except for when they need to go out.

I like big dogs.
All these people around here who walk there "little" dogs are freaking crazy and they NEVER shut up. they just keep barking and barking and going crazy...
i guess it depends on the breed? or maybe they just never socialized their dogs.. but so far all little dogs do is annoy me!
I know of a few I love and aren't like that in less someone is coming up to the house.
But I like big dogs. I like cuddling up with my dog (hes big) and he makes me feel safe while i'm out walking. you can play rougher with them then you can little dogs. and i don't know.. i just like big dogs! I do like little ones too just not the ones that never shut up!

Yeah those little dogs who never shut up annoy me too. I'm glad I've had mine since he's a puppy and I've taught him not to bark(around me) he has his occasional bark attacks but most of the time it is when someone is coming up to the house. Even though I have a small dog I still play rough with him. I can't have a punk dog. lol

I generally prefer big dogs, but I love all animals. I'm a pre-veterinary major, so I suppose it's just part of who I am. However, most large dogs were actually bred for a purpose and most small dogs were bred to look pretty and serve as status symbols. So, you have big, hardy dogs and then you have small dogs that have oodles of health problems due to bad breeding. I do make some exceptions, such as Dachshunds, but they were bred to go down small holes during hunting. They still have plenty of health problems, but I love them.
Another tidbit of information- you may think that a big dog is not suitable to a small living space because of its size, but many smaller dog breeds are more energetic than the larger dog breeds. A big dog can be a happy couch potato sometimes.

I agree I have seen some big lazy dogs. And the little hyper ones I guess would feel my smothered in a small place rather than a big lazy dog.

I like the little lap dogs who can cuddle up with you . That is all I had my whole life. My parents always had yokies. When I was older I got a chi / jackie mix and a pug !
