Where is your favourite place in all the world?

June 4, 2008 12:05pm CST
I was wondering ... where is your favourite place in the whole world? ... and I don't mean things like 'bed', 'curled up with a good book', 'in the arms of my lover/husband', etc... I mean a place in the world in terms of travel - what country, city, etc.. I have a few I must be honest. When I was younger I was lucky enough to have travelled quite extensively, both personally and through my job. My favourite places are Indonesia - Bali and Turkey - Olu Denez (1990). I am scared to go back to Turkey because I know it has chanaged a lot since 1990. Do you have any favourite haunts that mean a lot to you? Violetdreamslingerie.co.uk

I wish I could go anywhere I like but its too expensive especially here in the Philippines but even if I haven't been to Japan I think it has been my one of favorite place. Maybe because I admired there technology mix with new and old culture. You can see in the streets that even there oldest culture still lives. Plus I want to experience how to live in what we consider now as the future city of the world Tokyo.

Really, thats good to hear. I know the city here in the Philippines may not be that good but try to travel along Baguio, Cebu, Davao and other nearby provinces and you can see the real beauty of our country.

Personally, given a choice between Tokyo and Philippines ... I think I'd go for Philippines. :¬)

That would be in Bavaria in southern Germany. It is so beautiful there. I just love the mountains. I have only been there in the Spring and Summer. Would love to see it in the winter. Would also love to be on the beach in the Carribean on a small island. Like Vegas, it is always fun.

Not sure about Germany - was only there for a short while on a Contiki Tour many years back, but the Rhine Booze Cruise did make a lasting impression. As for the carribean island - yeah, I could do that too! Vegas ... not that was definitely a fun time!!! Could go back there tomorrow! Id love to see how it has changed since 2002/3 - I imagine quite a bit! Violetdreams

Dickey Beach, Caloundra, Sunshine Coast, QLD, Australia. We love going to Dickey beach, it's quiet but the beaches are beautiful and unspoilt, and you are away from all the tourists that journey to the Sunshine Coast. Even better, it's warm most of the year!

Dickey Beach sounds like a cool spot. Is it hidden off the beaten track so that the tourists don't find it? Violetdreamslingerie.co.uk

Well, I'm afraid that I will have to start mentioning my unfavourite place first and that is Austria. It is a very cold and lonely here, as people don't like to speak to those they don't know, which makes it hard for somebody who has not gone to school, university, or worked here. In 15 years I have made 1 (one) friend and I did not make that friend, but inherited her. In contrast to this place I can remember living in the Dominican Rep, which is an underdeveloped and poor country in the Caribbean, where people will talk, laugh, joke and share with you! That is where my friends are, many miles away and a few hours difference too. Palm trees, tropical fruit, beautiful scenery! The DR, la tierra que amo Colon (the land Columbus loved best).
5 Jun 08
Hi Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy Austria. Sadly it can be quite difficult to make friends in foreign countries and unfortunately it happens in most countries. :¬( It happened to me in the US (of all places). It seems people the world over are wary of strangers. Glad you enjoyed DR though - it sounds like a really friendly place. Violetdreamslingerie.co.uk

There's a place in upper Michigan, accually it's an Island where they don't allow cars1 It's called Mackinac Island.
