Don't you hate it when someone spoils the ending of a movie for you?

Just now, I was browsing the Netflix site and happened to run across the new Alien vs. Predator 2 DVD. I was really excited to rent it. But, I accidentally read one of the reviews. And, the person reviewing the DVD, totally gave away some key points of the movie and the ending. I'll probably still rent the DVD online, but it won't be such a surprise.
Have you ever been at a theater and had someone else tell you the ending of the movie, before you had a chance to see it? Don't you hate it when someone else tells you what's going to happen in a movie, before you can watch it? Has that ever happened to you?

It's annoying. We were babysitting two girls the other weekend and we all bunked in the lounge, mattresses on the floor while I slept on the couch and one of the girls kept telling us what was going to happen. I had to tell her so many times to no say anything but she couldn't help it. I ended up letting them watch it and hopped into bed LOL

That's cool! Sometimes I watch movies anyway even when I know
how things will turn out. Or, just lounge around and pay no attention
to the movie and read a magazine and use it as background noise. It's
usually not bad either way.

sometimes it really affects me that i dont like to watch that movie anymore. or maybe i will watch but it will take atleast a lot of time for me to gain that mood. i think i am that kind of person. even on food if someone tells me that this food taste like something is wrong i dont taste it anymore. i dont know why i am like this but i just cant control it. talking about movies.... we have different views about movies we also have different percepcions. maybe its cool to others and to others is not, but hearing others comments affect our percepcion. thats what i think

It's so true! I wait all year for these things to come out on DVD and then some numb skull blurts out the ending, to save me the trouble of having to watch it. I've seen a couple reviews online, accidentally, while reading posts on MyLots. Someone will just blurt it out and then I can't "unsee" the comment. They just sort of sneak it into the middle of what they're saying. And, it's out of the bag. You can't unring that bell. But, I will still enjoy watching the journey, even if I know where they're all headed. Thanks for taking time out to chat with me about my favorite subject, movies! Be well.

Yes I do and I dont. Sometimes I like to know especially if the film is sad, I hate sad films, really hate them. So sometimes if I think they are going to be sad then I will ask for the ending before I watch it!

When its one of my friends, I tend to get a bit more physical, so to speak. When its someone else I tend to make them feel like a complete jerk, lol.

hi beautyqueen,
you are absoulutely right tht when someone tells you the climax of the movie jst before you are going to seen, brings lots of anger for him.i perfer not to associated with such person who already seen the movie, really brings bad taste as the excitement is gone coz of telling the climax before.its really bad habit,i tell you.
bye n cheers,
swatig :)

I hate it!! hehe. I remember that some years ago I watched The Others, with Nicole Kidman, which is a great movie. By the end of the movie, someone told me, oh yes, this reminds of The Sixth Sense!. Well I was looking forward to watch the Sixth Sense and from that moment I knew what would happen....I watched it some time later but from the beginning I knew what the explanation to the movie was.....So my friends a piece of advice...don't rip movies endings please!

That annoys me so much, it happened to me once when I sat down to watch a film I'd been dying to see for ages. We were all sitting waiting to watch a DVD and my Uncle had already seen it and gave away the major twist of the film just as I was waiting for it to start. I was not best pleased.

hi bq26!!!
i do hate it especially if it's done on purpose but if its a review i wouldn't mind at all. i had this funny expereince though. i was on a dte with this girl and her friend tagged along. my date and i had picked out the movie to watch before meeting so we were unaware that her friend had watched the movie before. much to my dismay, she told how the movie ended and had described in great detail some of the more important parts of the plot of the movie. well, that wasn't exactly the great start that i needed for my date so i returned the favor to this friend by telling her how her life will miserably end.
end of story and good for me not the end of my date.

I hate that when that happens... Although, there was a time that it was my fault... I was on break at work & I noticed co-workers talking about the movie I wanted to see... I got involved in the conversation & basically ended up ruining the movie for me... That really wasn't anybody's fault... But yeah, other cases, when somebody spoils the ending, I really hate that... When somebody asks me about the movie they wanna see, I usually tell them, "I really like the movie & I know you'll like it too... And the ending, yow, wait till you see it!!!" And leave it at that...

We my roomates often watch movies and TV series together,we talk about them and sometomes the result may be clear bacause there maybe someone have watched or heard about that.We discuss about that.I don't think that will affect my mood,on the contrary I'll be more curious coz I will guess and "direct" the plots in my mind about how things go will end that result. Then I will prove my thought right or wrong while we go on watching them.

Yes I've fallen in such precarious situation many times earlier. I hate to hear anything about the movie I'm going to watch or the book I'm going to read. I simply can't watch a movie, the story or ending of which I already know. We, in fact, watch movies for some thrill and entertainment and prior knowledge kills the element of thrill in the movie. So normally I avoid reading any reviews before watching the movie myself. I believe that even when we don't about the ending, we become biased about the movie and can not enjoy it freely.

I don't hate it but it upsets me when they tell what the movie is about and i know that there is more to what they are telling. So it's better to watch the movie your self to see for yourself what the movie story line tells you.

my dad kept threatening to reveal the end of the final M*A*S*H episode when we were all watching it. a friend of his at work had supposedly gotten his hands on a partial manuscript and they knew the ending.

Yeah...i hate when that happens. thats why i go out of my way to not read reviews or watch things like Sisko and Roper. its a real turn off for me. and as for people that like to ruin the ending of a movie on purpose before i get to see it, i try to avoid them too so that i can watch the movie and be surprised. I cant enjoy a movie for the first time if i already know how it ends.

Yes, was with friends then didn't knew that they already watched it, just as we we're on the climax of the movie they just had to say what comes next.
I felt so annoyed on how they point at the screen and say the actor's lines.
